Happy.
Love Towanda. That's my band. Idgy 2.0 is my again prominent low-profile port. Damn a surgery (ok and all that damn running) that makes me so tiny that port just can't hide!
My entire life has changed. The whole thing. 22/24 to 2/4. 124-131 lbs down depending on the day............ I am a runner/walker/racer...........
The band is work, no joke. I have an appt on Weds because it is work. But no major complications for me, just difficulty for me staying green and not red or yellow..........but it didn't keep me from losing, just makes it harder for me to keep off, so going to see if I can get a little tweak.........

I am MORE than happy...ecstatic, excited, thrilled...and if you doubt my response, go check out my big wow moment post! I've lost almost 100 lbs (I need to lose 6.5 more by Christmas to hit 100 in 18 months.)
My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!
Yes, I sometimes hate the restriction, I miss some foods...but the benefit outweighs any negatives.

So far I love it. I havent had any complications (a few might deter me from trying to eat anything). I am down 27 pounds in the first 6 weeks with no exersize (sprained knee week of surgery, just allowed to go back to exersize this week). I can't wait to see what I can do with exersize. First fill last week and it's improved restriction, but I think I'll need another fill in 4 weeks to get me through Christmas.
No regrets.

Although I've had many ups and downs with my band, but in the 4 years that I have had it I've honesty had MORE UPS and the band has given me my life back even though I have experienced saline leaking a few times and I have gained back over 20 pounds as a result of the saline leak, but that was my fault since I enjoyed my freedom of eating everything I wanted, but know I have excellent restriction again and hope to lose these few pounds that I have put back on. If I did not have my band I am sure I would be back up to about 300 pounds by now. But thanks to my band I was able to go from a size 26 down my lowest weight size 8/10 last year.... but I bouced back to a 10/12 and now I am about a 14 even with eating all kind of crap I want to eat and a loose band.
SO... YES I am very grateful with my band even at 4 years...I still have ALL original parts and they are still working as long as my doctor remembers to fill me correctly to make sure that my port closes and saline does not slowly leak out.....I just got a fill a few weeks ago and I have great restriction again and losing again...so YES I love my band.

when I first started out i was completely happy. In the first year to year and a half I lost almost 80lbs and well on my way to goal. Then the reflux started. In may I had to get 1 cc pulled out and on a month of prevecid. Seemed to resolve the problem. Just as I was getting ready to make the appt to get another fill, reflux started again.. but triple what it was before. I think I'm more in the minority than majority right now. I've also had weird leg pain since surgery that they can't figure. Had nothing before surgery. I also get chest pains, which we are finding out is probably from the reflux and irritation to the vegus nerve by the band.
In the process of the reflux i've regained about 15lbs, and trying to keep it from growing any more. The band, when it fits the person and you can follow the program works miracles, but with everything it may not work for everyone.
So my advice is read through all the stores, bot h good and band. Really talk to your surgeon and discuss all the pros and cons of each surgery. Then just sit down with yourself and really decide what is best for YOU. =)
