Rash under stomach apron

Help! The other day I started to get a small rash under the apron of my stomach and overnight it spread. I have tried polysporin, a first aid cream from Solarcaine and now hydrocortisone and nothing is doing anything.

It's red and angry - not really itchy but troubling me mostly by the looks of it.

What has worked for you if you have experieced this? I am 2+ years out and have not had this happen to date.

Krista,
Is there any way you can hang out for a while with no clothes on?  Like laying on your bed so you can air that out?  Lots of times, just letting it dry out will help.  I know its not an easy thing to do if you have a family but if it can just get some air circulating, I bet you would see some relief.  Then at night I would do the cortisone.  You certainly dont want to get an infection in there.  But seriously, a good scrubbing with soap and water then dry it really really well with a towel and then just let it "breathe" for a couple hours if you can.  Tell the family you are napping and maybe read or something so it can start to heal.  Good luck to you. Hope this helps some

Thanks Tammie. I live alone (the loser I am) and have no problem doing the naked thing. I am keeping the area clean and am trying some Gold Bond powder this morning. I've never had this happen before and it's kind of freaking me out.

Krista, Stop that negative talk there is nothing wrong with living alone.  In fact when you do find that special someone for you it might be you will wish for the time alone again. You are someone I admire greatly with your dedication you have to exercise.  I get distracted from it so easily.  As for your problem Air is usually the solution to any I have had.  I also use a hair dryer after baths/showers to keep things dry.

Use the Gold Bond cream at night along with the powder during the day. That has helped me throughout the summer. Might want to see your doctor so they can document it in case you decide to try for insurance covered tummy tuck. Just a thought.
And by the way you are not a loser other than WLS's poster child for losers!!!

I have a similar issue, and keeping the area dry is critical.  There are prescription powders if it's really bad, but corn starch (which is quite inexpensive) is also very effective.

Good luck

yeast medicine will help, like clortimazole or miconazole.  Alot of times those rashes are caused by moist areas not getting air.

Thanks Mary - can I get those 2 over the counter? I will look for them today.

Take pictures of the ra****hat's great evidence for plastic surgery and insurance to cover it down the road. I would just try to keep it as dry as possible and a light coating of cortizone or something. I hope it goes away..ouch! -Nikki
