Hi, I am Amy. I am a 35 year old , married , mom of 2, Plus 2 German shepherds.I havegird sighted 14 years, and a son that is 10. Live in Labadieville. I recently had the POSE procedure done on November 15, 2011. I have lost about 30 pounds so far. The pounds came on so fast, but go away so slowly. My goal was to lose 75 pounds. Glad to meet y'all!!

Hi I'm Sharie, I had RNY Sept. 2011. I live in Gonzales and I'm blessed I don't have to work. My husband is old fashion and always wanted me home to take care of the family. Now that our baby will be going to LSU in the fall, no more children to take care of. But now I've been blessed with 3 grand babies. I'm very involved in my Church, I'm the Pastor's secretary. And my husband is the sound guy.
Everyone tells me how good I look. I've lost over 60 lbs but I still feel fat. I look in the mirror and See FAT! Plus I see KING CAKES everywhere its so hard to stay away from Carbs and sweets. Even though I'm keeping my calories under 800 my carbs are high. I'm still losing weight just not as fast as I'd like of course.
I love to worship and Praise God.
I take care my Mother that is on Hospice.
I Love the color Blue & Red.

Do you go to any support groups?
We were looking for someone to help me design something on our intranet at work for my call backs for discharged patients! Something you do?

You can try Dr. Bellows with Tulane. I am not sure if he does Gastric Bypass I'm really not so sure what that is but I do know that he does other types of weight loss surgerys and does accept louisiana medicaid.

Than you both very much. I just wanted to come and update, when the office scheduled me my appointment I somehow ended up with the wrong information and was scheduled to see Vanessa on a day that she was not there, so my new appointment is on February 28th. A minor setback, however I am being very patient as this is somethng that I want so so bad! Again, thanks to all for the support I feel very at home on this site!

I don't have medicaid but I had a patient that went to Dr Bellows and got the sleeve. She had medicaid she said it took about a month from the time she applied for vsg for medicaid to approve it. Well I work on the med surg floor at tulane on 5 east which is where Dr Bellows patients usually go after surgery. I hope to see the new sleeved you soon!

I had the VSG in 8/2011.
I live in Slidell, LA and work in New Orleans.
I'm trying to get used to my new body. I hate buying new clothes because they are too big in a week or two. We are going shopping tomorrow though.
I have four kids not working on anymore, Had an IUD placed for that. YaY!!!
I love to sing too. not much of a dancer though.
Blue is my fave color.
I believe in God as well !

Im new to this forum..Im on medicaid and medical neccessary for Gastric Bypass have you found any surgeron,,Im thinking i may have to go out of state.

I'm also a tech geek, I've been working in the IT industry for over 9 years. I'm the manager for an IT company specializing in Healthcare.
I have a toy poodle.
I'm building a house.
I make my own beer.
I weighed 470 a my heaviest. I'm a singer, pianist, guitarist, bassist, mandolinist, percussionist, optimist in search of the next bigger (but not me) better thing.
