What did U have to do to get it going??..I Jus got my Medicaid Moday and i dont know what to do now.....lol,,,,I don't have a PCP already b/c I couldn't afford one so will this be a Drawback?

WOW....ok.I jus got my Medicaid like 3 days ago and I don't have a PCP yet (b/c i cldn't afford one) so being that this will be my first appt and dr since my babies (back in 2007) will they give me a referral? Or will I need to go to Multiple drawn appts to get a referral?...Thanks for Ur response also and Congrats again..Thats Awesome :)
I had the VSG on Medicaid on June 14. Down 88lbs! You need to find a surgeon who excepts it. Dr. Noria is who I used out of Tulane in Metairie. She is amazing! I have also heard there is a surgeon at Ocshner in Metairie as well. Only 2 I know about in the state though. You will need a referral from your PCP to get an appt and then they (your surgeon) will guide you after that! Good luck!
I too have been researching financing opinions and the best deal I have found is a place in Mexico. They are charging about six thousand. Weightlossagents Should pop right up on a web search. Good luck!
Dont know where you are located but Dr. Borland in New Iberia, Louisiana did mine for 9800.00 on April 9, 2012, as of today I have lost 108 pounds and doing well.
Hi, my daughter is hoping to have this surgery next year. Our BCBS will not pay for it so it will be cash. Can anyone recommend the least expensive doctor/hospital for this?

I HAD SURGERY ON APRIL 9, 2012 AND ON NOVEMBER 9,2012 I WILL BE 7 MONTHS OUT AND AS OF TODAY NOVEBER 2, 2012 I AM DOWN 106 POUNDS. I HAVE ABOUT 78 MORE TO LOSE. I WEIGHED IN IN SURGERY MORNING AT 349 POUNDS AND TODAY I AM 241 POUNDS AND BOY AM I HAPPY. I LOOK DIFFERENT BUT MOST OF ALL I FEEL SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER. I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING.
Can you plz tell me the process to get everything started to get the VSG?...how is is going for U now after U have goitten it?
