Topic: New group for RNYers in the Ark-La-Tex area

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a new group on OH for RNYers in the Ark-La-Tex area in northwest Louisiana, East Texas and southwest Arkansas. It's a place to find support, encouragement, information and friendship as you progress in your RNY experience. We can keep in touch on a daily basis online, but I'd love for us to have occasional face-to-face meetings so we can really get to know each other. Topic: Looking for a doctor in Shreveport

Hi,

I tried and failed to get the surgery a couple years ago. My insurance denied me. But, now have different insurance and I want to try again. This time tho I am interested in the sleeve. Can you recommend someone? Also, would love to hear your story if you have the sleeve!

Well, Im not sure whats going on but, I got another denial letter from medicaid and its states the same thing reason code 611 co morbib conditions. I will put in a call to Devon on Monday. Anyone else get one today???

Medicaid paid for it. Easy questions really. About your eating if you over eat emotional eating anxiety. Are you depressed how was your child hood. Do you smoke or drink. Do any recreational drugs. Typical questions nothing to be nervous about. Remember these three words. Spell world backwards. Some questions were like hmmm really. What are getting from me speeling the word world backwards. LOL Although when he asked me my age I told him 25 and it took me a min and I was like no 29. Duh I felt like a jack ass. LOL Nothing to worry about.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING GIRLS!!! We are having ours tomorrow due to me having to travel yesterday and today!

well that's wonderful!

did you have to come out of pocket to get your evaluation or was it covered by medicaid? i'm asking because i heard someone say it was $200.

She didnt call me either so not sure whats up! Let us know when you find out something. I had my eval yesterday and the therapist says im cleared for surgery. Said I was a very happy and stable person and said he sees me going a long way with the help of surgery. He was a very nice man aswell. So now I just need to finish up my dietitian lessons and wait for approval and im set. WooHoo......
