Hang in there ladies, I'm getting the "blues" also. Come on Francis . . . cheer us on, you always know the right things to say.

I'm having a had time right now! I have quit smoking, but now I just want to eat anything and everything. this is hard! Deven told me not to worry, that Dr. Steeb was more concerned with me kicking the cigarette habit at this time than losing any weight.

The week after Thanksgiving I lost 3.5 pounds and was so happy, now I havent lost a pound. It's hard to kick 2 habits at once. And dealing with the stress of my family being ill has not helped at all. Pray for me, I need to find the strength within me to press forward.

It's real easy for me to encourage others, but hard for me to encourage myself, why is that? I go for my pshyc evaluation tomorrow and in this state of mind, I fear they may lock me up for a lil vacation. lol anyhow, I see Dr. Steeb again on Thursday. Looking forward to hearing some good news!

As for all of you ladies out there, keep ya heads held high! (I'm trying, but with all of this rain, I might drown)

Daboink:Glad to here its doing something. Im interested to find out how it works for you.

Dietitian doesn't think im losing enough weight so going to go hard core this week. Also, going to try this new dvd called walk away the poounds. Sinnce the weather has been very crappy here I havent been able to get alot of walking in. I always thought 2lbs a week was a good weight loss. Anywho off to do my food journal hope everyone is well. Spoke to Devon today as well. I went and got more blood work done and signed some releases so my docs can share info.

not sure about a weight loss yet..it's only been about 5 days..and i'm on a ramp up...25mg currently...ramp up to 50 mg tomorrow and next week ramp up to 100 mg.  but it's the weirdest thing...i do not want to eat.  and salty foods...forget it.  alcohol...non issue.  it's even making smoking be a little bleh.  it's weird because it's like this pill is making anything i want to put in my body (except fruit...or water...or TOMATOES!!! and i DO NOT like tomatoes)  not want to be there.  it doesn't make me nauseated or anything if i DO eat...but the getting there..the actual eating part...is the difficult part.  i'm thinking of a multivitamin or a protein supplement or even some ensure...cause ensure doesn't seem so "bleh"    i don't know what to do with all this time i'm not occupying myself with my mouth...eating..smoking..drinking...sodas that is...except every other weekend....i had a free night tonight to go out and get three sheets to the wind if i wanted to...and i was like..eh...i'd rather not.    it's so WEIRD!   funny things that happen at neurology appts?  eh?

Frances: Thanks for cheering hun! We all can use it!! ;)

Sorry I have been MIA but, with hubby and son being sick it takes everything out of me just to keep up with them. Sometimes I think them being sick is worse then ME being sick! HaHa

On the topamax deal my doc has talked about putting me on it but, right now its just talk we are seeing if this marge sic and lexepro take care of things first. Hows it going taking it so far?? ANy weight loss??

Have a great weekend ladies!!

frances....now that i have seen your old pictures...i remember seeing you around.  it is so good to see you in such a good form.  are you a teacher?  i ask because of the "lungs"  apron.    wow...now that i remember you.  it gives me chills to see how well you are doing.  ( i mean it gives me chills to see how well ANYONE is doing...but it seems so much more REAL when you actually remember the old person and to see the new....)   wow!  i hope you get the message i am trying to convey.  i get a little flabbergasted and discombobbulated with my words sometimes.

and btw.  i can really see how this topamax med can help you lose weight.  i mean..i wouldn't recommend it to people who ONLY want to lose weight...but to those who might have migraines or possible absence seizures.  i don't want to eat anything...it's like food is bleh.  i have to force myself to eat SOMETHING.  maybe i won't need surgery afterall...heh!  and anything salty....ugh...out of the picture.  and let's not forget alcohol!  just the thought of a drop of the stuff.  this is like anorexia in a pill.  i'm a little concerned.  maybe i should start on a multi vitamin and start chugging some nu-whey.  i mean really.  i can see how people lose a ton of weight on this stuff AND their hair!  it's like malnutrition in a pill!

nasty rainy night here...gonna force down this chicken salad sam' ich.  (it's got apples and grapes and romaine lettuce and whole grain bread and ordinarily i would be punching someone to eat it.  but i am going to have to FORCE it down!  good grief!  and i haven't even up ramped to the next dose yet!  )

My employer has United and we have an exclusion and I had to self-pay four years ago -- best money I ever spent.  I wish you all the luck, though.  Maybe there is a way for you to convince them.
