Fantastic news, Angel

I will be getting my exercise jumping for joy over here.

It you can tolerate skim milk or lowfat cheese as well as lean proteins like seafood and fish, those protein goals will be very easy to make. I didn't have to depend on protein shakes and supplements very long because I didn't tolerate them well.

Wish you wellness!
Frances

I GOT A DATE!!!!

JANUARY 12TH IS MY DAY . . .

I signed my pre op paperwork and I am so thrilled. On January 1st I have to start my liquid diet. Dr Steeb said he would like for me to try and get atleast 40-45 grams of protein a day pre op and afterwards 60-65 grams a day.

Oh and just thought I would let ya'll know that Deven informed me of a plastic surgeon who is now in the same building as Dr. Steeb also accepts medicaid to remove the excess skin when we have lost the weight. So that was kinda exciting to hear.

How to Appeal a Weight Loss Surgery Exclusion

Contributor By eHow Contributing Writer (1 Ratings)

Weight loss surgery is a lifesaving procedure that allows many overweight people to live a healthy life. Gastric band surgeries, such as the Lap-Band, in which a band is placed around the opening of the stomach and inflated to give the patient a feeling of fullness, is one of the most common types of weight loss surgery. Gastric bypass surgery is a procedure in which the stomach is made smaller and a large portion of the intestines are bypassed by connecting a portion of the intestines directly to the stomach. Stomach stapling is another option in which the size of the stomach is surgically reduced. Many insurance companies limit patients' access to these surgeries with exclusions. However, it is the patient's right to appeal this exclusion.

hi girls, decided to come say hi. i've been in christmas mode i guess and well less excited about everything cause it just doesnt seem to be working out. but anyways i went to see my regular doctor yesterday cause devon told me that i needed some thyroid meds or something so anyways while i was there one of his other patients walked out crying she was very much overweight. and she said that he told her that he couldn't help her cause she was too big and my heart just went out to her. i wanted to tell her about dr steeb but i didnt want to hurt her feelings anymore than they already had been and didnt know how she would take it if i asked her if she had thought about weight loss surgery. now i feel incredibly horrible that i didnt tell her anyways so well i guess ill talk to you later savanna

OMG, today was the longest day ever. i swear i could have smoked a foot long cigarette if i had it!

started out going shopping, then to my weigh in & support group, then for my psych evaluation, then off to get my daughters costumes ready for her play tonight in which she has 4 wardrobe changes, long story short . . . THE SCHOOL LOST MY KID!!!!!!! we searched for over an hour, they locked the school down, called the police and everything. they called the transportation dept to see if by some chance she rode the bus, the driver said NO, so my panic button went off, i was freaking out and so was the staff at the school, anyhow she was on the bus!!! she decided she was running late for her other route so she took my kid with her, needless to say i have a meeting in the morning.

ok back to my psych eval . . . i was approved for surgery! yippie! and he was a cutie! he was trying to trick me with questions, but i caught on. he never asked me to do the spelling bee like some of you had to do. lol but he sure was easy on the eyes!

i see dr steeb tomorrow, and i'm ready for a date! hopefully he is as well!

thanx for letting me vent!

Hey girl

Im very proud of you not smoking. Its a bad habit to kick. I kicked mine almost 5 years ago and I have my husband to thank for that. Let us know how your appt. goes with Dr. Steeb. Im expecting them to maybe give you some good news. ;)
