It's wonderful to hear from you and to see your concern and valuable feedback. You are right on target. The weight loss is slowing down right now and I am journaling (again) to keep a visual and numerical accounting for what I am consuming. I can eat like a bird all through the day, but the nighttime snacking and mini-binges are the main reason I have not exceeded 100 pounds. I recently loss one of my two jobs and will soon lose the other. The holiday stress was out of this world. I'm sitting here at nearly 11 p.m. hoping not to blow a day's worth of exercise in these last few hours of being awake.

I am thankful that I am not having a hard time motivating myself to exercise. I've done floor exercises, video boxing and had two brisk walks today. I might hit the road near midnight to keep the night/stress eating at bay. I've been doing cardio tennis at City Park and have recently discovered hiking.

I've posed the topic "So, what can I eat?" for our January group and newsletter. I've not gotten much professional feedback, so we will just have to circle the wagons and share what is working in our individual journeys. I hope you can be a part of our panel of veterans and offer food suggestions and strategies.

I fall and fail on almost a daily basis, but I haven't given up and I want to keep whacking away at this mountain until I get there.

Thank you for the much-needed advice.

Frances

Francis, at 6 months post op you need to really work on weight loss.  While everyone is different for me the weigh loss had slowed down by 6 months and at 8 months I had become stable. Now a little less than 3 years out I have to be VERY careful not to gain weight. I do suggest you try an lift weights as this will help with skin tone.  Also at this stage you need to make an effort not to return to the practices which lead to the excess weight.  For me night snacking is a problem and I must work at not eating late at night.  Remember you can GAIN IT ALL BACK!!!! There is a reason people stop coming to the support group other than success and it is failure and the desire not to have that failure noticed.  Be alert to any new compulsive behavior and seek help if you start anything that is of concern.  I plan to attend the group in January -- i was in Seattle on the December date. well, she just called me back and i will NOT be having my surgery on the 12th or in January for that matter, I have to wait until March.  I'm so heartbroken right now, all i wanna do is cry :(
On the flip side, one good thing is that hopefully Savanna, Crystal, & Myself may be able to have it done around the same time.  She said even if my medicaid cancels that i will be able to have it done for free under the charity system.   I feel like i'm back to square one, but at the same time I'm praying that all will be OK for  Dr Steeb.

I just got the call as well. Will Angel get her surgery???? I pray that she can I know she will be heat broken if it gets postponed.  Devon told me to mail in a copy of my medical records and then she will get me set up for my preop in March! Im starting to have my doubts. Has anyone got the surgery from Dr. Steeb??? I have messaged one person that was seeing Dr. Steeb but, he never got back with me. Just wondering.....have to keep all these negative thoughts out. Only good ones...heh heh.
