i got my appt on the 8 of april iam so glad he will give me my surgery date . It should be a week later after i see him Iam do my class now
The only information I have gotten is that there is only one doctor who takes Medicaid and he's in New Orleans, Dr. Steeb, and the number is 504-412-1366. When I called them they told me I had to have a referral from my PCP and that the doctor was out on medical leave and the earliest appointment they had was June. You should give them a call. Good luck!

The office is creating a waiting list for future patients. Just have your PCP fax them a letter and follow up with a phone call.

I have read a lot of different posts and I am a little confused. It seems things have changed over the years with Medicaid and I was wondering if anybody has recently had surgery that has LA Medicaid? I do know that Dr. Steeb in New Orleans takes it, but I am trying to find somebody a little closer, as I live in the Leesville/Ft. Polk area and NO is a good 4 hours away. I am trying to find a doc in Shreveport or Lafayette that takes medicaid? My second question is: does anybody know the requirements Medicaid needs in order to pay for the surgery? My BMI is 42-43 but I don't have any "serious" conditions such as high blood pressure, hypertension, type 2 diabetes (which shocks me actually) ; I DO have acid reflux and lots of knee/joints and terrible back pains. I am afraid to get my hopes up that I will qualify for surgery so I am trying to find out as much info as possible. Thanks so much for your help!
Yes...BELIEVE DAT...I believe that the number 44 just might have become my lucky number.
