Topic: Approved for Surgery!!!
Last Friday, I was sitting at home bored and I thought, why not give BCBS a call to find out the status of my insurance approval.  The doctor's office told me on my last NUT appointment that typically 2-6 weeks is the timeframe for approval.  Well, I called and was told that it was approved on April 1st.  ( I know April Fool's Day, LOL)  Letters were mailed to my doctor with CC'd copies mailed to me.  I received the letter yesterday and called Blue Cross to make sure.  Now I have to get an appointment with Dr. Richardson for a pre-surgery consult and a surgery date.  Hot Damn.

I could actually be starting a two week liquid diet Tuesday of this week or the next.  Dr. Richarson only sees patients for consults on Tuesday afternoons, so I am going to try like heck to get in next week.

This Cowboys fan will be bypassed before training camp, God willing.

my aunt works for ochsner and she told me that dr wooldridge is really good.  how did you visit go with him?

i agree they should be policing the docs better than what they do. alot of us we totally let down by dr steeb and his addiction.

Are there any doctors in louisiana that are taking medicaid for the sleeve. Since Dr. Steeb is out I have not been able to find another.  I have been trying for two years at no success. I am always too late or live too far(

All she has to do is call her insurance and make sure she has coverage. I have coverage  but that doesnt mean ALL BCBS of TX policies have the same coverage.... Icalled and checked on mine then I made my appointment  with the DR..

Do you know if he has had luck with BCBS TX or LA for the sleeve?  I see you have had the DS and sometimes approval can be different

Did you get preapproval from tehm?  Or do you have to go through an appeal process?
