Mimi, you can try calling your insurance and ask them if they cover weight loss surgery to see if you have any coverage. The next step is to attend a weight loss surgery semianar. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have an appointment with Dr Borland June 30th. I live in Albany LA so I will also stay at the motel. My only problem is getting a small loan to help with the surgery cost.

I used Dr. Wooldridge at Ochsner in NOLA! He was absolutely WONDERFUL! My RNY went fabulously and I'm sooo forever appreciative for his patience and skill as a surgeon!! I highly recommend him to ANYONE!

Don't know about N LA. I had it; no problems at all. I think about $72k for self pay. That's what my invoice said.
