Tunni I am having the sleeve done by DR bellows. He does do both surgeryies. I was told by medicaid they only pay for the sleeve. I do not want the Lap Band. ThickGirl is also haveing sleeve by dr bellows.

I spoke with Dr.Bellows office they only do the Lap Band surgery not Gastric bypass.But yes you are correct he does expect medicad.I'm trying to find a doctor who expects medicad and does gstric bypass i've been told it's much more effective than the lap band and results are more long term.If u hear of a doctor that expects medicad for bypass please let me know.My appointent with my PCP is on June 5th and i will need to have the docs info for a referel.Thanks Countygirl.

Dr Chung does not take medicaid. He taked Medicare. There is a Dr in New Orleans that takes medicaid. The name is Dr. Bellows at Tulane.

Have you thought about trying those over the counter immune tablets. I think its called airborn or something close to that. People take it to keep from getting sick but I have also heard of people taking it to build up their immunity. Just a thought. I hope that everything goes great for you. I cant wait for my surgery date.

Hello All,

Does anyone know where Dr. Theresa Klainer is practicing at now? She was at Touro Weight Management Center in New Orleans pre-hurricane. I've lost touch since then and would love to find out where she may be. If you know anything, I'd appreciate a point in the right direction!

I am using Dr. Borland in New Iberia. My surgery is scheduled for June 21 (I was originally scheduled for June 28 but moved it up for work reasons) Dr. Borland charges $9800....I can give you his contact number if you need it...
