I want to also WELCOME you to Louisiana!!!! Its summertime so its HOT. Just in time for seafood if that darn oil leak doesnt ruin it for everyone. I live in southwest louisiana almost intoTexas. lol I have found that OH is the best support board around. No driving.Comfortable chairs. All the nice people you could imagin and you dont even have to leave your home. lol Never feel that any question is stupid. The only stupid question is one thats not asked. We all have issues or problems or even exciting updates that are posted. The more the merrier i say. Glad to have you here and hope to hear more from you!!!!Sherri

Welcome to Louisiana!!!!! I live in Shreveport, 2 hours from Monroe. I really don't know what Dr. you should use in Monroe but I wanted to Welcome you to our very Friendly state!!! I am having my VSG surgery June 22nd in Baton Rouge...Hope you enjoy living in Monroe...I know a lot of people from there & they all LOVED it!!! God Bless!!!

Hi Countrygirl it's good to hear from you.I have been doing research on the Sleeve and also think that it's best for me. I to have a great deal of weight to loose as well and think the band is not the right choice.I see that with the sleeve the stomach stays in tack and no bypass is required.You also dont have to worry about dumping syndrome and vitamin deficiencies either.Which is wonderful that's what was scaring me the most.I meet with my PCP at 1:15 on tomorrow to decides the next step in moving toward my weight lose goal.I don't have to worry about him referring me since he was the one suggested i look into having it done.I'll keep u posted on what's going on okay.TTYL.

Oh, and did u find out if u knew Kerri's brother or not.She sounds really sweet.I pray all goes well for me and my new OH family.Always in my prayers

Hey girl,

Well, I have yet to have my surgery. They canceled on me for May 19th and im rescheduled for June 16th now. Im keeping my fingers crossed that it goes through this time. I know they are waiting on the instruments but, they have been waiting a LONG time. Sometimes I feel like its never going to happen. I meet with Dr. Bellows on the 15th the day before my surgery. I had my appt with Vanessa which is his asst. They are very nice and have a great staff. The main nurse is working her butt off to get everything done so we can get this surgery. I just keep praying about. I will let you know what all happens.

I just want to introduce myself.My name is Cleta I'm from Louisiana and i am very close to having WLS.I meet with my doctor on tomorrow there i will ask for the referral and from the my journey begins.I am 29 yrs.old and have been dealing with weight my whole life.I'm looking for a support system a friend who I can talk to and listen to who are going through and want to talk about there journey.
I haven't had a visit with Dr.Bellows yet,but i am planning to use him for my surgeon.I see your surgery was on the 19 of May and i was wondering how are thing going for you.Was doctor Bellows a nice doctor?What type of foods are you eating?Are you happy you made the decision to do this.I know its alot of personal questions i'm asking but i really wanna know if I'm making the right decision.

It is all this crazy weather we are having.Its not even summer and we have summer temps. pollen is super high right now.

Everyone you talk to in metro New Orleans has been sick with upper respiratory/cough and sometimes going into bronchitis. Takes weeks to get over. I am iin my 4th week and still coughing.

. Sometimes we need guidance.lol I was very disappointed in Dr Steeb. He was a trusted surgeon. Glad we have a new Dr to help us with no disciplinary problems.
