I am sorry that one of your fav food no longer taste as good. I have heard many statements of food not tasting as good or taste buds change after surgery. To me I dontmind so much because food tasting so good is what got me into this situation in the first place. lol. I am a country girl and like most food. I am having the VSG and cant wait to have the restriction to help me control how much I eat. I am glad that you are on the journey to a new you. I cant wait to be on the loosers bench....Sherri
Today, I decided that I was going to try some with a couple of tablespoons of rice for my dinner tonight at work. Could only eat a couple of bites and I had to put it away. Well, at least I didn't throw it up.
You have to look at your surgery as a positive step to changing your life and improving your health. I am not going to lie to you, I was worried about doing this surgery. I had struggled with the decision for over five years. In that time, I contracted type II Diabetes and I worried with that. The biggest fear for me was what would happen to my kids if I died. But you have to look at this as a positive step, think about what your life is going to be like with all of the extra weight off.
I am almost eight weeks out, and I don't regret anything about the surgery. When I woke up following the surgery, I didn't even feel a whole lot of pain. The gas was worse than the surgery and this was my first major surgery. When you start to feel anixety, come onboard to this site and look around. The support you will get from people here will help you, I know they helped me.
i hope i heal fast cuz right now i am in alot of pain!
