Hi  I was wondering what the process was like for you? You had to wait 6 months before having the surgery and if so did you get approved?

Hi! I am wondering if you got approved for the gastric bypass with medicaid? And what the process was like? I am wondering how long it will be until I can actually get the surgery. Thanks.

Thanks for all the information that you have given me. Yes I was afraid to go and spend even more money on a weight loss program. I had the same experience with Medifast as you did I lost 40 pds quickly but it became to expensive and I had to stop going. I will call his office back and ask if they will except my personal trainer notes I weighed in with her and had a diet that I followed with her I only lost 5 pds in 6 months. I would think that once you have everything done and see him and get approval you would get your date and start the liquid diet. Thank you so much for replying back because I was worried myself.

From what ms Cheryl told me,no. Bc I panicked! I was so devastated when I thought I was Gona have to do 6more months of dieting and waiting. But she said no. Just have my doctor fill out the forms for each month. And since I went every week, I have 4 forms a month for the 6 month period.

Medi, was OK in the beginning. But it basically became a expensive sticky web. The only reason I was able to do 800 kcal diet was the adipex and when I choose to get off of it and make the full lifestyle change the 40lbs I had lost came back. Im still doing the diet plan. But I seem to lose and gain and can't get below 256, ugh. I hope after the cardiac clearance Monday(yay!) I can get my appt with Dr Dominguez soon after.

The one question I haven't gotten an answer to is: Once we complete all the requirements and we see him for dietician eval @ his office, and all that is submitted to medicaid for approval (and approved) will I get my pre-op diet & date or a series of more visits at his office?

Covington is 4+ hours away from where I live, and I'm going to drive for sure. But the spirit is willing and the body is weak, lol.

Hi I'm new as well. I got my paperwork about a week ago. I've started the process but was wondering about the diet I've done Medifast about 2 yrs ago recently I have been working with a personal trainer, and was on a diet. This was since March to July. My question is would that count as a 6 month diet or do I need to start a new program for six months?

hi, im new to the site and havent posted much. but i have been talking to cheryl at Dr.Domimguez office. In the packet she emailed me, it included the 6 months of diet form. I had recently done medifast, and just continued on the low carb high protein diet. I have done everything on the list except my cardiac clearance, which is Monday! I dont know how long it will take to get my appt with Dr Dominguez office after u fax all the info in. Plus i have to switch my medicaid on Sept 1st. I hope its soon. The process of waiting is the hardest for me. But im hoping for a surgery date before the year's out.

I was wondering if you had to do the 6 month diet tracking?? I have my paperwork from Dr. Dominguez but it says you have to be tracked for 6 months.
