The bad thing about it sherry is the KNEW i was a diabetic, they was trying to give me insulin before they checked my sugar................. the nurses on the floor know NOTHING of this surgery, yall all make sure they just don't come in there and give you anything................ don't let them give u insulin unless your accucheck is over 150............i had to get 2 units one time, my sugars are doing great. I texted Traci yesterday, said she was really tired!! Which on the second day out i could not hardly hold my eyes open i was so tired, and that was without pain meds, I have not had to take any pain meds since i left the hospital.

Hey paula I am glad you are feeling so much better!!! Sounds like they were very disorganized. I wonder why they dont have anything sugar free. I am sure that they diabetics that have they surgery. That is soooooo crazy. I will bring my powders and stuff from home and just have my honey mix them for me or i can do it myself. I sure dont want to drink anything with 54 carbs in itor 43 grams of sugar good god talk about a sugar rush. yuck.  Do you know how Traci is doing. Did they treat her any better? I am just glad you made it thru and are doing so much better. Keep us updated on how you are doing.  You are in our thoughts and prayers...Sherri

they would not let Traci in the room until they had everything right for her!!!! So I hope and pray that they get there act together before the rest of yall have it. My stomach is just swollen, but I am in no pain, just sore as the devil. I don't know what the blisters on my back are from????? You lay on a transport cart that only suppose to carry 200 pounds the mattress is only 1 inch thick, you have to lay on it for 13 hours........... so I don't know if it was from a allergic reaction from the plastic on that cart or what??? All I know, they hurt worse than the surgery.

Paula I am so sorry you had such a bad experience. I am worried now about the things that happened to you. I hope they do get their act together. Were the blisters caused from being on you back so long? I am glad I will have my significant other with me when I have my surgery he will tell them off. I hope that your recovery is way better than your hospital stay. I think i will bring my own sugar free kool aid and jellow so that I will not have to eat all that carby stuff. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. I am sorry that you had to go thru all of that. We can now be better prepared now that you have told us.  Take care of your self...Sherri

Thanks for all the prayers................ the hospital was the most horrible experience i have ever had. When i go back for my 3 week check up i am going to meet with the administrator. I layed in recovery for 5 hours screaming in pain............... i have crushed vert in my back............ all they told me was press the morphine button and it would be all ok......... no did not work. I have about 5 inches of big blood and fluid filled blisters on my back that was why i was in so much pain. I am 5'1, I could barely get out of the bed, and i could not get back in the bed i  had to stand on a chair to get back in bed, they did not have a chair that my fat ass could sit in in the room, they brought me this walker for a 150 pound person. They left my iv fluids stay out for hours at a time, so no pain meds, then they do the swallow test, this idiot tells me to gulp................ and i fell like i am going to die from the pain, he made me drink the whole contrast for the swallow test, and kept bumping the machine into my stomach............then the tray they send u........................OMG no sugar free nothing............ koolaid jello, boost with 54 carbs and 43 grams of sugar, tea with sugar, broth that smelled like ass. Then the nurse gave me my blood pressure meds not even taking my blood pressure................... it was 90/48.............. then they had to give me more fluids to bring it up!!!!!! Thank god my sister is a RN and raised to roof!!!! Maybe they will have eveything in order when yall gets yalls surgery. Yesterday i felt like i was dyeing.................. today I feel pretty good, just trying to sip, sip and sip. oh i have 7 tears in my stomach, where they went in..........u will only see dr bellows when u go into operating room, after that you will only talk to interns. Hope everyone else has a better experience than me!!!!

I am sorry that you are having trouble. Have you tried to chew on ice chips. I have heard but please use cation that some people chew gum ( afraid of gas ) or chew and spit out food. But i am not sure if either one of those are very safe. Good luck and gongrats on the sleeve...Sherri

I am on day four, really have the urge to chew and eat something "real",  do I really have to wait until 14 days. I am almost depressed I think. Don't get me wrong very happy for the surgery just want to eat normal, sick of liquid diet and 10 days to go.

If you don't mind driving to Baton Rouge, Dr. Bellanger in Gonzales is awesome.  He did my sleeve and I couldn't be happier!
