Yea, progress!! I am happy for you. I talked to my bariatric coordinater and she said that our support groups are for anyone, even if you had surgery somewhere else. SO, you need to come with me to the meetings. The 3rd tues of every month at women & children's in Lake Charles 6 PM. They are a very good source of info. The next one is on Dec 21.

hi, welcome to the site; u r working with a wonderful surgeon and his team; i met him personally in new orleans in june and really wanted him to do my surgery; but NO is just too far for me to go for all appointments; i live in ferriday and NO is a 3 1/2 hr drive; i am still preop and ur welcome to go to my profile and see my story; hoping for rny on 12/14 with dr sartor in monroe, La but things have not been going good for me physically and mentally;  good luck on your tests coming up and hope to see u on this site more

I am new to the site. I have been on a different site but was glad to find a group in Louisiana. I am in New Orleans. I am still in the pre-op stages. In fact, I have my EKG's, etc day after tomorrow. I am working with Dr Richardson and the team at Ochsner and will be getting the Realize band. Let's see... I am 28 and will be getting married in April. I hope that if all runs smoothly, I will be having surgery in early march. I just wanted to say hello... hope everyone is doing well! TTYS!

Hello Gwen, I joined the OH website almost  2 yrs ago when i was considering have the BAND revision surgery done. I have since then deisided on having the ByPASS surgery. I go to meet with my Dr. in Houston on monday. I now live in Westlake i seen where they offer support groups at Woman and Childrens Hospital. Can anybody attend? I will not be able to afford to drive to Houston for the support groups once i have my surgery. So hoping i get approved soon.  Well looking forward to hearing from u ......sheila

Everything has been completed. After calling New Orleans everyday for Three and half weeks they have finaly faxed my stuff to medicaid for approval. So now I sit and enjoy my protein shakes and wait for my approval. Its funny, I feel so relaxed now.  I know its aggrivating to them for me to be a pest but if I had not then my stuff would not have been faxed until some time in December.  She told me that they have 22 patients in clinic and that they are busy. Well you know I was one of those 22 people at one time and I am no less important now because I finished all of my stuff.  If she would have been wise she would have had it faxed four weeks ago and then she would have avoided hearing my voice three times a day for a month. I could have been mean and had my cousin call all those times. She has one of those Fran the Nanny voices. HEHE. Anyways I am so ready to have that letter and get my date. I cant wait to join the losers bench with the rest of you guys.
