Topic: BCBS state group
Hi all I am new to OH and have a question. I have my consultation with the doctor tomorrow about having WLS . I currently have BCBS and have been told in the past that they do not cover it, I have called BS and State group to verify. Well my boss who has the same BSBS as I do just got approved for RNY his surgery is in 6 wks. with the same Doctor that I have my appt. with tomorrow. Him and I both a about the same problems, but I also have bad knees, sleep apnea, and a BMI of 49.
I am just wondering has anyone else had success with BCBS on gettting approved?
My fingers are crossed, prayers needed for my approval reaching out for much NEEDED prayers! thanks

I am happy for you Cowboy! I see you had BCBS of louisiana, I also have that as well. Was wonderng how long it took and what hoops you had to go through to get approval. I am having my first consult tomorrow and very nervous, I hear BCBS does not cover it, but my boss just got approved and he also has the same BCBS as I do. I am praying for approval! so happy for you!

Sheila had her surgery on Thurs in Houston. She was supposed to be released on Sat, but they had to do a lot of extra stuff with hers being a revision. She was in surgery 3.5 hours. She is still having a lot of pain and alot of nauseausness. She may be able to come home tomorrow(Monday)!
She said other than the pain and being nauseaus she is doing ok. I will let you guys know if their is any change.

sherry, please go to dr, don't do like me and wait to see if things get better! I waited too long from throwing up with no more medical insurance,all my muscles in my legs are eaten away and I can no longer walk.

I have a past history of prescription drug dependancy. There is nothing else like the withdrawal from drugs. You have nausa, vomiting, body cramps and diarrhea. These are only a few. Most people have to go to rehab to get off of these drugs and sometimes that doesn't even work.
Some people get on Methadone to withdraw from drugs. Methadone is only worse to get off of.
I have quit eating surgar and carbohydrates. There are no symptoms that were even close to actual drug addiction. If it was that bad then they would have rehabs for sugar and carhohdrates. Whoever wrote this article undoubtably never had a real drug addiction.
My husband and I went on the Atkins diet which is almost like no carbs. He loss 50 lbs and of course I only loss 10. Neither of us experienced any kind of withdrawal. You just have to make your mind up just like any other diet. Who has ever has ever suffered extreme withdrawal symptoms.
