It helps to not know im alone in this treatment,I told them that If id have ever been  told that  I had to have 30 pounds off by a certain date Ida had it off, but  they where just looking for a reason to cancel me, first off the  bat she was questioning me about  red marks on my  shoulder and elbow,I told her its just from swimming in  clorine and sal****er at the hotel, that it was nothing, thats when she started on me about the weight loss, she told me that I was not ready to have the surgury that if I was then I would be dieting every day,lol...what a joke.I told her look  we where on vacation the  entire months of june,I did diet,I think I was lucky to not have gained anything. And again that if I would have been told that I had to loose that much by then It would had been done.

Its still hard at times. I have to remember that I cant eat what I use too. Example for the 4th we BBQed at the new house we just moved into. lol Well, I fixed this big plate with sausage, pork steak, chicken leg, potatoe salad, corn on the cob, rice dressing. and well I ate the sausage hehe and was so fulli put my plate in the fridge and ate on it for three days. I didnt even make the desert section but hey I cant complain i am still dropping weight.  Sugar sometimes makes me sick anyways so best to stay away. So far I am down 79 pounds. I also have to remind myself when I am busy to ea****er is something that I seem to crave wayyyyy more tho. Thats a good thing. I wish you luck with getting your surgery in Tyler. I know right where that is.  Talk soon....Sherri

I am sorry that you are going thru this. It has occured to me that they change things and make up rules as they go. It has happened more than a few times and to a few people that I know. Another OH member has also been moved back but not as far as you were. I drove from Vinton to New Orleans for my stuff also. It is a pain but fuss complain get it all out.  As soon as you have your surgery and are on the mend i promise it will all be worth all of the aggrivation and trouble. I  hated dealing with their drama but now its all over and I have not been back since i recovered. Dont give up hope.  You will get there.

OK,LIKE I said before  I originally was given  the 12th for my preop and was  only told to start  my diet on 11th,the liquid  diet. And that the dr  expected me to have lost between 20 and 30 pounds  or he  would cancel my surgury  on the morning  off...then  they call me  up and  tell me  bellows will be out off town the 12th and  I have to  go do preop the 6th. So I  go,and venessa  postponed my  surgury  to  august 17th and did not do preop, but  told me I have to  go in on the 12th to do preop plus go in on 26th to weigh in and  that I have to have lost 30 pounds  or  they will cancel the date again,She chewed me out for  not haveing lost  the weight already ,I said well my diet does not start  till  3 weeks  before surgury, she argued that i was  told to be dieting this entire time, which is not true, they are full of crap,I was never instructed to loose 30  pounds by now.Im soooo  incredibly pissed and  tired of being screwed around. These trips  are not exactly free for me,we live 4 hours one way  so that is  8 hours round trip. Are any of yall getting messed around like this also?

Topic: RE: What is the different kind of weight loss surgeries
Well, as far as I know they have the RNY, Duodenal Switch, Lap-Band, VSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy), and the Vertical Sleeve Plication. The Lap-Band can be removed and I believe the Sleeve Plication can be reversed. I know for sure the VSG is permanent but not sure if the RNY or the Duodenal Switch is reversible. I can tell you my story, I had the Lap Band placed in December 2006. Initially, I lost 60 lbs- only because everything I ate came back up. I managed to live off of mostly liquids for 4 years and never lost more than the 60 lbs (after losing the 60 lbs I was at 170). My band was always either filled too much and nothing I ate stayed down or too loose and everything I ate did stay down then I gained weight back. I would get weird pains in my side when my food would stay down and I always felt tired and sluggish. I found out 2 months ago that my band slipped partially and that if I did not do something soon that it could slip completely and if that happened it would require an emergency surgery. I made the decision at that time to go with the VSG. Only because from the research I have done it seemed less invasive than the RNY or Duodenal Switch and had a great success rate. I contemplated the Sleeve Plication since it was reversible but heard that the results were not as good as the VSG. It will make 2 weeks tomorrow since I had the revision from Lap-Band to VSG. I have already lost 20 lbs and feel fantastic. I was back to work in 6 days and had very minimal pain- mostly a little sore for about 3 days. My doctor had to remove a ton of bad scar tissue that the band left behind. My only regret is ever getting the band in the first place. Everyones body is different. They have had many people that have had great success with the Lap-Band but if you do your research they probably have an equal amount of failures as well. Anyhow, hope this helps. Good Luck to you!
