I had surgery last Monday, the week before surgery I lost 6 pounds. I weighed this am,,,, only lost 2 lbs. Since surgery. Could I still be swollen from surgery? Im still on liquids which is mostly clear liquids. Could it be that im not moving around very much yet. Im walking in the house constantly, but it's not exercise walking if you know what I mean. Please let me know it 2 pounds is normal. Im not freaking out, but I sure hope when I go for my 2 week check up next week that the scale has moved more. Kateri

It is normal for some people not lose the first week after surgery. Did you weigh before you left the hospital? You gain a lot of weight in the hospital from all the fluid they pump into you. You probably lost all that fluid and in the next couple of weeks you will see the results. Also you should be walking not to lose right now but to help you get better. You feel better when you walk. I gained 6 lbs in fluid while in the hospital. Most of what I lost that first week was that fluid. Cathy G.

Please don't worry, I gained 5lbs right after my surgery. I am now 4months post op and have lost 65, I have 15 to go til my goal. Of course I thought I was the one that the surgery failed on especially at three weeks. Don't be surprised if at 3 weeks you hit a stall. That is normal too. You will do just fine. Hugs, Jodi

I was so glad to read your post. I am at 3 wks now and feel so bloated. I lost 17 lbs in the first 2 weeks and have stayed the same for this next week, maybe even up a pound. I have been very disappointed. Teresa

Teresa, For week 3 and 4 I played around between 196 - 198. Up two down two, this really got to me. It is very normal. You will have stalls but usually during the stalls you will lose inches. I hit a stall for about 4 weeks at month 4, it like to have drove me crazy but I was getting into smaller clothes. I stress over the scales, which they are evil. My doctor told me to get rid of the scales but of course I could not. You will do fine, just follow the program. It has been an incrediable journey. Take care, Jodi

I gained 10 lbs in the hospital, so yes, you are probably still swollen. Good luck!
