Medicare
I was given incorrect information.... a surgeon friend told me that the RNY could be combined with the gallbladder removal, and I could just "pay the difference" but... the hospital financial department won't do it.... they wanted me to cough up the whole $22K and that's not doable for me... I was told that this doc had done it before, costing the patient about $5-7K and now I'm told that's not possible (course no one could talk to the other doc, she was busy in surgery)... UGH
Anyway, I have never had a doc do liquid diet for gallbladder removal (and I do postop care LOL)... I dunno... but it's killing me... I feel HORRIBLY guilty that I just am not able to do it... yet another failure for me... Sorry to be so glum... it's TTOTM for me and I'm struggling with a lot of issues...
Okay you aren't being a failure. That truly sucks about the continuous misinformation.
I had the hardest time doing the liquid diet when I had surgery. H just kept pushing me and reminding me that this was what was necessary.
I couldn't be around anyone who ate real moods and I also couldn't cook. I'm very lucky that my husband and son did what they had to do during those weeks.
Good luck
I was self-pay and I had asked about the two surgeries being combined and was told no. I haven't heard of anyone being on a liquid diet for gallbladder surgery (I wasn't). I had my gallbladder out a year before my WLS. I didn't mind the liquid diet - but I knew it was in preparation for my surgery. I'm so sorry the surgery isn't working out for you right now. I hope there is hope for it on the horizon.
Are you having your surgery in New Orleans?
LOL, I had the same problem with triscuits. I stopped bringing them into the house. I would snack on them. I loved them. I think the guy at star bucks gave me the wrong drink. I was so sick It was like I was on drugs at the mall. It was so crazy., I was swaeting aND SICK AND HAD TO LEAVE.
Take care
