I have been tanning for about 3 weeks now, why wouldnt you be able to go? I started real slow and still not at the full 20 minutes yet. If i burn I hold off going a couple days. I burn in areas that has never seen the sun....lol denise

Ann, Sounds wonderful!! Imagine only 15 pounds more to go!! Congradulations!! I could easily loose about 40 but would be so pleased with 25-30. Keep up the good work. jacqueline

YEP!!! I was going before surgery and after surgery my surgeon told me to wait a month, if I remember correctly. I go 3-4 times a week in the summer month's and have not had one problem. In fact, the only scar you can see from my WLS is where my drain was and it looks like a small t. The other scars you have to search for. Go tan girl and enjoy it. Be sure to always keep your skin moist, it will tan better also, keep it moist since WLS it helps a little with skin sagging issues later. The best I have found is Bath and Body Works lotion. As far as tanning lotions there are so many out there but, I like Smoke, Rapture, and one's with bronzers in them. Ask your tanning salon for free samples, sometimes they will give them to you. One thing I don't like is...they make some tanning lotions that tingle, to me it feels like I have fiberglass in my skin so, I always tell them no tingle. Some people like that and it does give you a good tan. Another thing, is to gradually work your way into tanning. When I first start every year I only tan about 7 mins then work my way up to 20 mins a session. Hope this helps. Gina

hehehe, when you tan, do you wear a swimsuit? Those of us with a panni might have a shaded "white thighs" area if we don't (my guess, never tried). Kat

I had the same thing after my suregery and ended up being in the hospital a couple of extra days because it took longer for me to be able to eat and drink. Then I ended up with 2 strictures that had to be repaired. So, just tell her to REALLY take it easy when she starts to move on to more solid foods. She really needs to chew chew chew! I hope she is feeling better soon!

Hey Christine, I didn't have strictures, but I had nausea/vomiting from the time I had the barium test until I left the hospital. I couldn't eat(drink) anything in the hospital. But let her know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!! I haven't had ANY problems since I got home!! So, I will be praying for Chell that this swelling will go down and she won't have any further problems!! Hugs, Dianne
