Shreveport area, anyone?

hi alicia, my doc has a meeting once a month, dr barnes over by schumpert hospital, i believe his next one is the 20th of april, a thursday. are you living in shreveport now? Denise

Hi Alicia, Right now I have been going to my surgeons support group meetings. The only drawback is most of the people there have been lapband patients and it seems like there is only 2 (including myself) that is bypass. I think Schumpert bariatric group offers support meetings on Thursdays. Not sure when in the month it is offered. I just got something in the mail from them the other day. I am not sure what I did with the flyer. I would like to go to those meetings and hope to soon. I am sure the number is in the phone book. Nice to see another Northwest Louisiana poster. Alicia: You are so beautiful. Are you Indian or Mexican? My boys are Indian. So, I live near Shreveport. I am actually 14 miles from there. I am going to be looking for a support group too. I am having surgery on April 20th and will need all the support I can get. I work at the hospital that Dr. Barnes does the procedure at. Schumpert is a great place and everyone that has had surgery for Bariatrics raves about it. Elizabeth

Hi, thank you for the comment. I am 100% pure American. I heard Dr. Barnes was good also. The insursurance I have covered it better in Dallas, than in Shreveport. I don't know why, but I didn't argue, at least they covered it!!! I will try to make to a meeting on the 20th. It is hard because I work the graveyard shift at the boat, so no normal hours for me!
