Has anyone experienced this before?
Hey everyone!
I'm been having a little problem and not really sure what it could be. If I get up real quick or if I strain hard or if I bend over and stand up I get very very light headed and dizzy and vision gets very blurry. It's happening more often. It's kinda starting to get scary. I guess I need to call the doc. But just started a new job and hate to have to take off and drive to Covington.
Any suggestions???
Thanks...Christie
Sounds like a case of Vertigo to me. I had in four times last year.
I would see about making an appointment with your Doctor, but have someone drive you. Good Luck and let us know.

Hey everyone: I do work at Neuromedical Center. I guess I could have talked with one of the nurses there. Its almost impossible to get to one of the doctors.
I have heard several people now say low blood pressure and that could be it. I never did have high blood pressure and the medicine I'm taking for my kidneys is a type of blood pressure medicine, but it's a very low dose.
I'm going Monday morning for lab work at my PCP's office. I'll have them check my pressure.
A while ago I was getting out of the car and it happened.
Thanks to all of U!!!
I'd guess it's probably what we call "orthostatic hypotension" and that's just a fancy word for low blood pressure that happens when people change positions too quickly However, that is very often a sign of dehydration, and should be treated by a doc fairly quickly...
Since it's happened several times... I wouldn't wait to call and tell your surgeon (or the on call doc), since he *might* prefer to have you go get IV fluids or stop the medication *before* you get hurt. The risk is that if your blood pressure continues to drop it could reach dangerous levels and you might be alone when that happens, or worse, you could be driving and black out from turning your head too fast. It's NEVER a bad thing to call the doctor and report the onset of new symptoms
I'm curious what med you're taking for your kidneys, if you want to mail me privately I would be happy to offer more info if I can.
Hey Kat:
I'm taking Lisinipril 10 mg as an Ace Inhibitor. I used to take only 2.5 and she moved me up about ten months ago due to lab work. But my blood pressure has always been good, sometimes lower before I started taking this medicine. Dr. O said he thinks I can get off of it b/c when he seen my labs he didn't feel I needed to be on it anymore. But I was never able to talk with my PCP so I was hesitate about getting off of it.
Thanks girl!!!
BINGO! Lisinopril 10 mg is not "supposed" to have dramatic BP effects, and when compared to other BP drugs, the effect is considered "mild" but it is still effective in lowering the BP.
BUT every patient I've seen on it, it drops the systolic BP (top number) by 30-40 points... not bad when you're systolic is in the 160s.... it is awful for those in the 110's
I would NOT TAKE the med today and call your PCP, explain your symptoms and Dr O's recommendation... If you were my patient in hospital, I would not be giving you that medication Those symptoms may seem mild to you, but it sounds like your BP could drop dangerously low.
If I were your nurse, I would "hold" the Lisinopril until I could talk to the Dr, since I'm fairly certain s/he would decrease it, or stop it entirely. I could actually lose my license for giving it and not notifying the doctor of your symptoms.
That said, call the PCP before you take another dose
