Where is the pouch

I am beginning to eat food and am confused as to where I will fill full. Had the impression it would be sort of behind the breast bone but get no full feeling there. When I eat refried beans or Wendys chili I get a slight full feeling but it is down a little above and to the left of my belly button. I am having no problem with needing to vomit. I am conservative and don't eat more than about 3 oz of food at a time. I can take regular size bites, no baby spoons, but do pay attention and chew well. As silly as this sounds could this be a problem because eating is not a problem?

hi girl, all foods are different, trust me there are some foods that will make you want to die, the more solid foods u probably will only eat very little. i can eat soup, potato, soft foods really with no problem, chicken, tuna, veggies, I get fuller faster. Mixture of food, try that, like when its time, meat, veggies, it only takes maybe 5 bites at the most for me. i question if i had a pouch many times, i have never thrown up, then all of a sudden you eat a certain food, and the body reminds you of your pouch.. good luck, don;t worry,, its there... rhonda

Betty Jo, In the beginning after my surgery I did not feel full. But I was careful not to eat very much. After a while you will start to feel full. I think the sensation of fullness does not appear right after surgery. It takes a while. Take care, Lynn J., lap RNY 9/29/04 -159 lbs.
