29 hours til....
In less than 29 hours I will be a loser!!
OMG!! Please pray I have smooth sailing.... my kids need me !!
I am not afraid to die, God has plans for me I am sure, but my babies need their mamma!
Here it is 5:00 am cst, and I am awake, can't sleep, I am calm, just praying that every thing goes text book!
I haven't even packed anything yet, it would be a perfect time to do it since everyone is sleeping!!
Anyway, any last minute suggestions?
Hugs,
Tracey
Tracey,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. What an exciting but yet nervous time for you. I remember the day before oh so well.
As far as packing, you really don't need much. I packed a gown and robe, never used either. I wore the hospital gowns the whole time. They were thick enough and big enough to cover me when I walked the halls. I was going to wear my own robe to walk but I was so hot the nurse suggested just going in the hosp gown. It is so much easier with the IV tubes wearing the hospital gowns. Make sure you bring undergarments, personal hygiene stuff, toothbrush, paste, deodorant etc.
Don't worry about books or magazines you won't really feel up to reading. I love to read the paper but never really felt like it, and I felt really good to be honest. Oh don't forget your slippers, important cause you are going to need to be walking.
Just remember to walk, walk, walk, that is so important even if you don't feel up to it.
Most important thing of all, have a positive attitude. I really feel this is important. You are going to have major surgery, you are going to hurt, but stay positive and know the pain will go away but sometimes you have to help it along the way, (walk, walk, walk)
Looking forward to hearing from you after you hit the loser side.
Take care,
Jodi
Tracey,
My prayers will be with you!
I know exactly how you feel about the kids. It is so much scarier to them than us. My younger boy was terrified for my husband's WLS so it took a while before I was willing to take the risk b/c of him. Remember that a big part of why you're having your surgery is b/c of them and God will be with all of you. And really complications are the exception rather than the rule with the surgery.
Mainly try to relax, I know, easier said than done! I had my surgery in New Orleans and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for the pre-op prep the night before. I took my younger son's best friend with us and they played in the pool and everything went beautifully. If you can get the kids to relax it's over half the battle!
Remember, we're waiting here for you and it will be such an awesome "ride"!!! I would do it again in a heartbeat. I went shopping yesterday for a wedding and had fun, amazing. I got 2 dresses, one a size 14 and the other a size 16, it's such a dream come true. The best part is they were on sale and very dressy -- both for $99!!!
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to you,
Anne
