Any Bandsters here??

just wondering if there is anyone that has had lap band? i'm looking for a dr. to do fill's. its very hard to find one locally. i dont mind driving . the dr. at southwest was gonna do it and now has all changed. Im having my surgery in Mexico . i wish i could have dont it here but just cant beat the price over there. im haveing surgery April 11th thanks for any info! Donna

Hi Amanda; I don't know how close Rayne is to Shreveport, but in Shreveport there is a Dr. George Merriman that does the lap band surgery, so he probably does the fills also. Please be exceedingly careful about getting your surgery done in Mexico. I know the prices are hard to beat but I need to give you something to think about. My surgeon here in Texas has only had to do one repair job on a lap band surgery and the lady that was the patient had had hers also done in Mexico. She came back here with a severe infection and had to be put in the hospital to get rid of the infection and then to repair the damage. Unfortunately in Mexico they don't have strict cleanliness guidelines like we do here in the US and this lady ended up with higher medical bills than she would have if she had stayed in the US and got it done.
