SICK of being SICK

Well I am soooooooooooooo tired of being sick, I am now crying over the fact that I am always sick and don't know whats wrong,, I hate to call the doctor and annoy him when it could just be a stomach flu or something,,, I don't know whats wrong and its not so much I am worried about what could be wrong but I am just SICK OF BEING SICK,, I never minded throwing up before but doing it 6-7 times a day is now getting to me , and I am starting to have horrible pain on my left side,, I tried to take a phenergan last night about 11 or midnight and it didn't help too much so I forced myself to sleep,, Its now 4am and I am awake and feeling sick again , like I need to throw up or it come out the other end,,, sorry about the details,,, I am really dehydrated though,, yesterday the only thing I got in was 3 sips of a protein shake and then that came up plus some,,, I drank really slow and waited 10mins in between every sip,,, I need to still take my night time meds but can't keep them down or can't drink anything to keep them down,, I am thirsty but then when I think about drinking I get sick,,, and I am having alot more pain , especially on my left side this time around,, I am pretty sure that is normal I know last surgery I did so good that I am just assuming that this is the normal pains you experience,, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO,

This is not normal Ashleigh. Seriously you need to call and bother the doctor. This is what he is there for. I'm just going to say it - this is why people die because they don't go to the doctor for problems and they get worse. You have to get stuff in you at this stage. Call him or whoever is on call and let them know what is going on. I know JoAnna won't be bac****il Monday, but sometimes she is there on the weekends so you could call and see if she is there tomorrow (today asit is 5 am). I bugged his nurse almost every day a few weeks postop. I sometimes felt bad, but I was concerned and she answered my questions. I did have the pain in my side a few weeks postop and they told me it was completely normal. I'm concerned about you not keeping anything down. Diane

CALL THE DOCTOR, DON'T WAIT!!!!!! Seriously you need to get this under control. If you can't keep anything down you are going to have more problems. My personal thought, I would not worry so much about the protein as just getting liquids in. Sometimes early out it is hard to stomach the protein. Right now you need to be worried about getting in clear liquids. The protein will come in time. CALL THE DOCTOR NOW!!!! Yes, I am using all caps so I am yelling at you. Ashleigh, you need to take care of yourself. This is not normal and I am not trying to scare you I just want you to know that it is important to call, it is worse for the doctor and staff if you put things off. Go right now if you have not done so already and give them a call, you may end up back in the hospital if you don't get this under control. Keep us posted, Jodi

Thanks guys,, I know I may sound ridilous,, I just feel so bad b/c I don't want to bother my mom, the doctor , the hospital anyone , if this is just a bad stomach virus or something like that,, I don't want him to be like ahh man , she just has the flu,,, I am going to call him,, My mom is worried and she is comming up here to be with me and she what all is going on, I haven't told her everything b/c I don't want to worry her or bother her,, I know she just spent the whole week in the hospital with me and slept horribly ,, also she does soooooo much for me and I hate to ask for more,, I am trying to take SLOW SLOW sips of water every 15 mins and am going to see how that goes,, if it doesn't go well after about a few hours I will call the doctor,, If need be Liz can bring me some fluids from the truck to help with that. I will keep in touch with yall , and I appreciate soooooo much yall listening to me and being there for me,, thanks! I know I am a adult but sometime you just need to be nurtured and babied!

Ashleigh, Even if you only have a stomach bug, it needs to be addressed. You are to soon out of surgery to even be dealing with that. Please don't wait around. Things are not like they use to be before the surgery where you could wait it out. I know this is a gross question but are you going to that bathroom, urinating? If that slacks up get your but to the ER, that is a sure tell sign of dehydration. Also the color if it is dark you need to be seen. Keep trying the clear liquids. Take care, and I won't harp on you anymore, unless I feel you need it. HA HA!!! Honestly take care of yourself. Jodi

Hi Ashleigh, I'm about to try calling you again. You may be resting and I fully understand that. I will be near tomorrow morning and I would like to bring you an unopened can of Juice Plus. It's less harsh on the stomach than protein drinks cause it has asodophilous (sp) and enzymes. These things are the stuff that makes cultured yogurt easy on the stomachs of sick people and folks undergoing chemical therapy. If I miss you on the phone, please give me a flavor preference. Ashleigh I have not been here long but once you told me you read my profile and felt sorry for me because I said I was hesitating telling me 35 yr old sone about having surgery and if I need someone to talk to let you know. Now that was a nice move my you. You also said to let you know and we could meet for coffee here in Covington when you were here some day. OK girl--I take that as a invitation to give you advice. YOU CURRENT EATING BEHAVIOR WILL LEAD TO DEHYDRATION!!! rEMBER THE 17 HOLES. Call your doctor this minute!!!! Your are seriously ill and need help. Hey Ash....mercy girl!!! I know how u feel b/c about a week and a half ago I was so sick. Since then I don't want anything at all! I do beleive mine was a stomach virus though. It lasted from that Thursday to Monday. I just wanted to get in bed, not get out! I was throwing up bile then. I didn't call the dr b/c i knew i had an appt with him that coming thursday. I was so nauseated and just the smell of stuff would make it worse for me. I think you should call the doc! Especially with some pain your having. It could be something pulled from throwing up but really there is no way for us to know that! I would call for sure!!!! What about ice chips....have you tried that? I know that helps me a little. It's better than sipping on something. Hope you get to feeling better ASAP!!! Christie
