Is anyone 5 years out or more ?????????????

im really interested in reading about people who have had sugery several years or a long time ago to see how they are doing, and keeping the weight off. so if anyone knows of someone's profile I could read please let me know....................... thanks Kateri

Go to the "Surgery Anniversaries" section and pick out someone whose surgery date was 2000 or before. Surely someone out there will talk to you. As a matter of fact, there is probably a September 2000 message board. Let me know if you find someone. I'm curious about that, too!! Blessings, Pam

I know of two people but they aren't on this site. My ex mother in law had hers done by Dr. Martin in New Orleans in June of 1999. It was open. She was 400 lbs and 5 ft 4 in. She is now 150ish. She has been doing really well!!!! She lost it really fast too. She did get a hernia from the surgery and had to have that fixed. That was just a few months after her WLS. But anyway...she is doing awesome!!! She eats whatever she wants and maintains her weight loss because she changed the volume of food intake. She also had a three ounce stomach. She can now sit and eat probably a few cups of food at a time. The other lady I know had hers about four years ago. She had it in Baton Rouge with Dr. Bellanger. She lost around 200 pounds and has been doing wonderful too. No complications. I don't know about the amount of food she eats or anything like that because I don't know her that well. But each time I see her she always tells me she is still doing great. She looks great too! At Dr. Ordoynes support meeting he has a nurse that he did and she is about three years out I think. She said she gained some of her weight back, like 30 pounds, but other than that she is doing good too. sorry I couldn't be of more help!!!

A friend of mine had it in September 2001. She is doing good with it. She says she has gained back 6 lbs in the last year.
