Weelllllll I really messed up on this one. I was very good about letting the Texas folks know that I am home but forgot all about my Louisiana pals!!! I had the surgery and it went well on the 13th of February. The only complaint I had was the ward clerk for the ward that I was on after the surgery. Talk about lazy..... this woman was sooo bad that she wouldn't get off her butt and let my nurse know I needed pain medication one day. I ended up waiting 7 HOURS for it until an aid saw my nurse and told her my situation. The nurse told me that the ward clerk never told her I had been calling for my medication. She said the she knew I was scheduled for some but when I hadn't called for it she assumed I didn't need it. That is understandable because I told her I don't like taking meds unless I absolutely need them. I ended up spending two weeks at a rehab hospital after my regular hospital stay. I was much too weak to go home and care for myself. Then I ended up coming down with a very bad cold virus while in the rehab hospital. So I'm glad I was there instead of at home. I caught that bug from some guy that came into my regular hospital room with a group of students that were doing rounds. He started coughing and I wondered why he was there. I was too woozie from the meds to find out why he was there instead of home in bed where he should have been. I've been home since the 2nd of this month and am doing well!!! I go back to the hospital on the 29th to have my band filled in an outpatient proceedure. The doctor doesn't fill the band until six weeks after surgery to give time for the swelling to go away. I'm looking forward to gettin some skinny on me......
