Consultation Mar. 23 !YAY! I'm on my way!

What should I expect from the consulation? They told me it would be 3 hours long. I am also meeting my dietition and the bariatric coordinator to discuss my insurance stuff. Can someone give me some idea about what is going to be discussed?

Hi Erin...... I am not far from you. I live in Church Point, when I went for my couns. we went over the surgery, the risk, the good it would do my health. i have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, underactive thyroids, and back problems. i asked any questions that i had.... in just a few days his office called and had already scheduled the dieticain appointment and the physic. exam which was done by Dr. Bergeron in Lafayette. that all went well.. so he put me on a 3 month superivsed diet and exercise program. i went for a check up yesterday and i will probably have surgery on May 1, which will also by my 41 birthday.... good luck, do all the research you can, this website provides alot of info. and support and talk to people who have had it done. I met with the Physicians assistant, the Psychiatrist, the exercise physiologist, the nutritionist, the sociologist, and had all my blood-work, etc. done on the same day. Of course, I had my surgery in New Orleans with Dr. Martin and each office does things differently. Just the fact that you got an appointment is very encouraging!!! Keep us posted!! Blessings, Pam
