I hit 169
This is the second day that I have weighed 169. Finally another goal met. I was stuck at 173 for so long and boom went down to 169. I am thrilled. I have 30 lbs to my big goal, but I am doing small goals of 10lbs each. Makes it seem more realistic doing it that way. Today marks my 3 month anniversary. Will try to take some pictures today if I get up and get dressed. I still feel like crap. Each day I feel worse so I may go see the doctor in the morning. This has now settled in my chest and I have a nasty cough.
Take care and thanks for letting me share my excitement.....
Hugs,
Jodi
Hi Rhonda,
I think I am going to go in tomorrow. Since I have been running fever I know I have some kind of infection. I can get it to come down after taking something but it goes right back up by the time the next dose is due.
How are you feeling, I hope you are feeling better and can enjoy the weekend.
Take care,
Jodi
Great job Jodi~) I like the new pictures you added to your profile..and you sound like you are a proud mom of some great kids!! I would like to know what your tipical day's menu is?? I am pre-op about 9 days (3/22) .
Of course we learn as we go from day to day but I want to have a few pantry items ready for my return home and such..I go to the nutritionist on the 15th in Slidell @ Southern Surgical Hospital..
I try to check the board every other day or so...Keep up the good work!!
Deb
Hi Deb,
I think I have one of the strictest surgeons with post-op diet. I was on clear liquids for the first two weeks. Then for the next four weeks it was full liquids. I then went to soft pureed foods for four weeks. I can now add chicken as of last Monday.
The first couple of weeks I did fruit juice but would dilute it with water. It was way to sweet. I did 1/2 juice 1/2 water. I also enjoyed popsicles. I have never liked popsicles but sure did enjoy them. I could only suck on it for a few seconds and then I was finished. One popsicle would last almost a day. I really just craved water, ice cold. My mouth was so dry and that was the only thing that helped.
I did not start on protein until I was two weeks out. I did try it earlier and it did not set well. Once I got to two weeks I did just fine.
I have not been sick at all, sometimes I find I do eat a little to fast. Still learning. Some people really enjoy sf jello, but I just wanted liquids.
Today my family went to church, I have the crud to bad to attend (I would hate to sneeze and cough the whole hour). Usually we go out to eat after church and my daughter asked my husband if they could stop for crawfish, he said what about your mom what can she eat. My daughter told him mom only eats leaves and grass she won't miss it. It is so funny how food just does not turn me on anymore. I don't know where she got the leaves and grass from but they are always so concerned with what I eat. In a good way!!!
The hardest thing I have found is that I miss drinking with my meals. Oh well, I am trying.
I will be thinking of you on the 22nd. Post as soon as you can. Most importantly keep a positive attitude do what you are told to do and walk as much as you can, it does really help.
Hugs,
Jodi
