6 week check up today
Hello everyone:
I hope this day is being good to you so far!
It's so windy at the house and coming back from the Dr in Covington the little car was swerving all over the road. It kinda reminds me of the hurricanes, not a good reminder!!
I had my six week check up today even though my six weeks won't be until monday.
Doc says I'm doing great and I'm free to get back on track with any type of activities I was doing before surgery. He said I look very healthy. He did some labs just to make sure everything is going well with that. I don't have to go bac****il three months.
I've lost 43 pounds so far and 3 to 4 inches on different parts of my body!! Yea, I'm excited!!
I also had the appt with my dietician. She told me to start eating any types of foods I wanted but still watch the fats/sugars. I thought I was on a mushy stage right now and had to wait for that other stuff at like 3 to 4 months, but she said go ahead with it! So I will! I miss carrots, green beans and peas. Sounds crazy huh, LOL. I have a box of Talapia from walmart and plan on cooking that often. I love seafood!
I've never eating oatmean or cream of wheat, but I bought some and will try it soon. Maybe tonite if i can build the balls to do so!
Wow, while I've been typing this I've heard a few limbs snap...geez. I have my sliding door open in the dining area and those limbs were loud. There is also debris flying around out there.
Anyway, everyone be safe. I know it's storming in some parts and will be hitting us here in the Denham area soon.
Take Care,
Christie

ps...haven't seen the 200's in years, like over ten years ago!
If my appointment had been a bit later I would have seen you. I was there for just about an hour. The nurse couldn't draw my labs so I'll be going to quest.
ALso the scale in room 2 is off by about 50 lbs (even though it doesn't appear it when they do it). I got weighed on all 3 scales today.
I'm so proud of how good you are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey honey.....I'm anxious to see what my blood work is showing. I guess they'll call. If not, I'll give them a ring next week.
I never weigh the same at their office. I was in room 1 and it weighed me five pounds different from my home scale.
I just got my chocolate unjury in and drinking it right now. It's not bad. I also have the unflavored to put in some foods.
Love you girl.....Christie
Christie--you are doing sooooooo goooooood. I will be having surgery Monday and am presently 335 and the idea of being below 300 in 6 week is almost impossible to imagine. You are my inspiration!!
The weather is getting hairry in Covington. My son just called and said he was leaving New Orleans early because the wind was so bad doors were blowing open and debris was blowing all around. He didn't want the causeway to close before he got across. We are all "gun" shy since Katrina. Those folks in those FEMA trailers must really get nervous.
Anyway--you are doing so great. Keep toward your goal.
Stay strong and positive.

Christie,
WAY TO GO GIRLFRIEND!!!!
I know you feel better... And look better too...
Go slow with the new foods you want to try.
I love my veggies too. Bu****ch how much of the carrots you eat they turn into sugar like potatoes when they are broken down and digest in your system.
yeah the wind here is bad too I hope it dies down by 5pm so I can drive back to Slidell from Covington.
I am really glad to hear that you are doing so good. keep up the good work.
take care,
Chrissy
Yeah for you!!! You are doing GREAT. I am VERY happy for you. DO go easy on the veggies at first though!! I am almost 18 months post-op and still have a hard time with raw carrots and broccoli. I can eat cooked carrots pretty well and a "little bit" of cooked broccoli, but I have to chew REALLY well. I think I was about 6 months out before I could really eat lettuce or tomato... Peas will probably not be a problem, bu****ch the sugar grams.
Anyway, so glad to hear a good report from you!! Keep on keeping on!! Hugz, Pam
hi Christie, glad your appointment went well, try the foods slow, my eyes would love to try old foods, but my stomach quickly says no, i love veggies, but cooked it doesn't go down to well, raw ones do, isn't that weird? , im not much on appetite right now , probably due to recent gallbladder surgery, im down almost 80lbs, which is a good thing, but not much energy... me, you and tina need to get together one day... well talk to you soon. rhonda 293/215/130
WOW! 43 pounds thats amazing! I mean, you just got your rny done and your half way there. I am so scared to do it even though I should. Its just a hard decision. I also want another kid so its like why not get it after. I also am afraid of it not working bc I really need it to. I have to lose a good 120-130 pounds for it to be worth it. I am so happy for you to lose that weight so fast its great. Do you know how much he bypassed? At the seminar he said that he normally does 120cm but I wonder if he might go more than that if the bmi is over 45-50. I think your progress is such an inspiration and makes me wanna just get the money together even though we dont have it lol and just do it already.
Hey....glad to hear from U!
I remember something about my intestine is now 39 inches but Idon't know how much was bypassed. Also, remember I have the ONE ounce stomach too. I need to lose a total of 170 so I have about 130 left to go!
When did you go to Dr Ordoynes seminar? My pre op BMI was 53 now 46.
Hang in there!!!!!
