Binders/girdles??

I know i was talking about notebook binders before but now I am wondering about binders for the tummy! Did anyone come home with a binder/girdle thingie on their tummies? i think i would want one so i wouldn't get a hernia and plus i have a bad back! What do you all think? Hugs, Tracey

The only person I know that had a binder after surgery had plastic surgery. But ask your doctor maybe they will give you one. It think they will be to painful though. Tina

If you surgery is Lap there would be no need. Very fer doctor even use them for open surgery. You can buy them at medical supply stores. bj

I came home with nothing on mine and you shouldn't either with Dr. O. I only seen the ones with tummy tucks coming home with that kind of stuff!

My husband & I has binders with our RNY, we both had open procedures. It isn't paniful at all, it provides support so it actually hurts less. You only wear it in the beginning when you're walking around, just a couple weeks. I don't know if it has enough support to help with a bad back though. Anne
