can anyone tell me of their experiences with them? Also if anyone has used Dr.Warden of that group could you please share..Thanks

Lateesha, I used them. Dr Lavin did my surg on Aug 16,2005. I love the office staff. I know Dr Warden is a very good doctor. I work at Lakeview Regional in Covingotn. I have seen him around the hospital he is very nice. I chose Dr Lavin because he had did the lap band on my best friend and the lap rny on my sister in law. So for me the choice was easy. I have surgery scheduled with the group next week. My doctor is Michael Moore but Dr. Warden did LAP Band on my frient and the is doing great. I don't think you could find a better group. I researched them completely and they are superior.

hi , lateesha, i think the group is one of the best, my preference is Dr. Lavin, I wouldn't choose another group. Good luck! my surgery was 11/16/05 no complications, i just had to have my gallbladder out, but thats because of the massive weight loss. to date i've lost 78lbs, rhonda

Hi Lateesha, I had my surgery on 6-22-05 by Dr. Lavin. The group has a great reputation and are awesome in assisting with everything, including doing mostly all the work to get your insurance approved. Infact, I only had to provide documentation of my weightloss efforts, they faxed everything. They are also very good at making sure you are prepared for surgery and have weekly and month support groups available. Good luck.

My appt. with them is April 14 @2pm. I completed my psych evaluation today and he said he will clear me for surgery and that if I needed anything eles let him know.I have an appt. with Dr.Shalmin Monday to start my required medically supervised diet required by my insurance.I have to do six months but they said they would try and get it approved at three months.I have been going to aspen clinic and next in april will have three months but the patient advocate says it looks better when I go to a pcp. Is there test or anything that you recommend that I have done before my appt. that help speed up the process.Thanks..Teesha

Hey....see ya got an appt with Dr.Shamlin, is it Tasha? I love her so much! I had to have an EKG and labs before my procedure as well as clearance from a PCP and the pysch eval. Good Luck with everything!

I had my surgery RNY on November 28, 2005 at Southern Surgical Hospital by Dr. Clark Warden and it was GREAT! My entire experrience is and has been wonderful. I will be seeing him on March 28 and my weight losss is already 70 and I have NO prroblems. They are the best in the South. Smiles,Jan Brown

I would recommend Surgical Specialists of Louisiana and Dr. Lavin to anyone. Everyone there is professional, courteous and extremely caring. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences there. I was banded by Dr. Lavin on September 16, 2005 and have lost a total of 63 pounds since. Best of luck to you!!
