Hey Everyone: Well today marks my big four weeks since surgery! I'm down 34 pounds. For some reason I was expecting more, but anyway, people tell me that 34 in four weeks is great! As most of you know, my surgeon requires six weeks of liquids...yea that is right! So anyway...i have two more weeks before I'm still supposed to eat foods. I can eat stuff like jello and popcicles, you know full liquids. But ya'll I have a confession to make. I did good for three weeks on liquids, still not at goal of 64 ounces, however, I wanted something different. I was just so tired of the taste of protein in my mouth all of the time....so...I cheated! Yes, I know, I shouldn't have, but did! I ate some saltine crackers, just two at one time, but the salt on it tasted SO GOOD!!!! I was like WOW this taste so good. Plus my son had cooked some chicken breast and they were smelling up the house, so yea, I took a little teenie bite and it was so good too!!!! Ah, real food! I was satisfied with the little bites I took. Also, yep, not through, cheated more, my mom had cooked a roast with potatoes and carrots in it, well, i ate a bite of roast, potato and carrot! YUMMYLICIOUS I know it may sound wierd but that is the kind of stuff I miss eating. Well, I'm really stubborn and yesterday mom cooked some shrimp with a coconut sauce on top...i know...coconut sauce is a big no no!!! Well, yep, i tasted it, the first shrimp i chewed and chewed and it was so good. So two more followed, and I was full as a tick....then 15 minutes later, up came the shrimp and sauce. I have a STRONG feeling that if the sauce wouldn't have been on them, I would have been ok. But like I said I'm stubborn!!! Its just hard to see that other people can start eating things at two weeks and i have a lovely six weeks! Plus being at moms last night when she was cooking the shrimp....yikes, the smell was just so yummy! Temptation took over!!! I guess that is why I've been fat all my like, no will power! Otherwise, lets see, would I do this surgery again, of course, because I'm so excited at how well my health is improving!!! But I must admit, last weekend, I was kind of a whiney butt....emotional! I don't know why? It only lasted a few days and then it was over. I just wish I knew what caused it! I still can't walk much with this crazy right foot of mine. I went to Albertsons with my mom and couldn't even finish going through the store, my son had to go get me an electric cart. This foot allows me to be on it for about 20 minutes at max and then the sharp pains start kicking in! So needless to say, walking has not been in my agenda since surgery. And yesterday I got an excercise bike from Tina Peak....thank you so much Tina, your a life savor!!!! I rode it a tad bit last night, but I was just so pooped from having a full day. I think that is about all of my last four weeks of my journey!!! I hope everyone is doing great and has a wonderful week! Christie 340/306/170

Christie you have a great weight loss. I am scheduled for surgery on March 13 and my doctor also has us on liquids for 6 weeks. I think that first egg will be great!! It is so strange to read all the posts and profiles and see how different the doctors are. I plan to have gumbo strained of course, thai soup strained, and so on--I love the taste of food. Oh well I would not be 340 lbs if food was not my weakness. Good luck and stay on your program don't make that little pouch mad at you. betty

Hi, I wish you the best of luck with your surgery!!! I know I get so scared literally think my tummy will be mad!!! I sometimes think it's a little person, LOL. I know that sounds goofy!!! I told my mom she needs to cook some gumbo so I can go over there and get some juice. LOL I have bought some can soups and strained them, but nothing like home made!!! Have a great day! Christie

Christie, I just want you to know you are doing great....also wanted to let you know you are/were not alone with the liquids. My surgeon has his patients on clear liquids for two weeks then full liquids for four weeks. Then it was on to soft pureed foods. It makes sense to me to let the pouch heal real well. Take care, Jodi

You know I'm so incredibly proud of you. These last few weeks will fly by. At 5 weeks I convinced JoAnna I needed to try food and she agreed. You look awesome in your new pictures. Diane
