any body with Dr. Ordoyne

I was wondering if anyone had their ryn with him? How was the office? (I think Insurance girl has had it with me... she sounded aggrevated??) did he have good follow up care? Any support groups in mandeville? Thanks, TRacey

Hi Tracey We have a Covington/Mandeville group that meet at Lakeview Hospital each month. March 16 is the next meeting. You do not have to be using that hospital to attend the meeting they just provide a moderator and a room. To check the dates and topics go to whyweight.com and click on the support group button on the left. There is at least one person on here who has used that doctor. I hope to meet you at the support group but will not be there in March since my surgery is on March 13. I am using Dr. Michael Thomas in the Levin group Surgical Specialist of Louisiana. Hi...I had my surgery with Dr. Ordoyne on 1/30/06. Feel free to read my profile. He is an excellent doctor. His staff is great too. The dietician's name is Joanna. She is really a sweetie also. They have a meeting once a month, third monday of each month at 7:00 pm at St. Tammany. I would recommend him to anyone! He is very strict though with the diet process!! But that is also why he has no complications!!! Two other people on here have recently had their surgeries with him. Diane and Ashleigh. Actually, Ashleigh just had hers on Wednesday. Another person that had their a while back is Tambra. Their could be some more people on the board but I'm not really sure! Good Luck Christie 340/308/170

I used him and I love him. He has a support group once a month. However, JoAnna and his nurses are available on a daily basis if need be. Rhonda (insurance) is probably just overwhelmed at times. She is awesome. He did laparoscopic on me and I'm very thankful. Most doctors want to cut you open after 350 lbs.

I just got mine done with Dr. O.. He is awesome but yes his nurse or whatever she is , named rhonda is a handful,, all I can say is do what I did and what my mom taught me long ago,, kill her with kindness , thats what I had to do and she hated every min of me ,, we still joke that she was begging the doctor to do my surgery to get me to stop calling her,, she was really nice at first but then all of a sudden changed? She's overwlemed I can understand but she has a job to do and that doesn't include being rude and understanding,, but just remember she isnt there in the end,, so grin and bare it!!! Good luck
