Self pay problems later on

Has anyone who has gone the self pay route had problems later on with their insurance not paying? Will the insurance pay if you have complications from WLS after you are discharged? Just want to see what I am getting into. Peggy

I havn't had any problems, but i dont' think insurance will pay for any problems, but im sure there is loop holes, rhonda

I am self pay and have those worries. It is probally different in different insurance groups. I have state employees group and they pay nothing and will not later unless you doctor can "cover up" the weitht loss issue. I am having my gallbladder removed at the same time and they ar paying extra to the surgeon and hospital based on tipical time allotments for that surgery. I would think ulsers could be treated as ulsers and so forth. I got all my per testing paid, my internist send in things like shortness of brath, hpyptention, and such. Good Luck betty
