LOSING MY HAIR
Denise,
I really believe in drinking protein shakes. Have you ever had a lab test called prealbumin? It really tells the most about your protein levels. You ought to ask your doctor to run the test.
I drink 2 or 3 protein shakes a day and will drink them for the rest of my life. I mix 1 and 1/2 scoops of protein powder with 5 oz of water and some ice and blend and then drink. I love my shakes.

Hey girl no it's not all in my drinks. I drink 3 drinks a day and each drink has 27 grams. The rest I get from protein bars, meat and cheese. I always pick snacks that are high in protein. I don't know about the not needing protein. I would get a second opinion on that. Every doctor I know stressed the importance of protein. If you don't get your protein you will start to lose muscle mass along with fat and that is not good. I know you trust your doctor but I really would research the affects of not getting the protein in after surgery. All the other doctors can't be wrong. I will research some and let you know what I find out okay. You know you will lose weight faster if you drink protein too..
Take care
Tina

I'm sorry, but are you saying you have *no protein* daily or just no protein drinks? Some doctor forbid use of protein drinks after the inital recovery period, but protein is basic to good health. Even vegetarians get plant proteins.
Are you a vegetarian or a juicer?
I get about 60-80 grams of protein a day. Not all from meat, but none from shakes.
I think this is important enough to get a clarification. This will effect more than hair.
