Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great week ahead of them. I'm so excited about this weekend coming up! Tracy and I are going to the dinner in Austin, I can't wait!
I didn't have very many WOW moment's this week but, I did have a couple. Tracy told me I had a tiny hiney. I've never been told that in my life.
I sent my Mom an updated picture of me and she said Gina, you are small, those two words have never went in the same sentence before in my life.
So, what were your WOW moments this week? Come on out and brag on yourself we to hear all about it.
Gina
My wow moment was today!! I called to confirm the new job is a "go" and was asked to join them for a meeting on Thursday evening... with the VP of care management, the ED nurse manager, and the Social Work director!!!
Amazing! When I first did the interview one of the BIG things they pointed out to me was that they lacked case managers with recent clinical experience (which I have) and I pointed out that I could help deliver to them experience on clients they DON"T KNOW anything about.... bariatric patients who have been relocated have often had trouble finding a team who knows how to care for them, and especially case managers to help them get necessary equipment and nursing care at home. I explained that I was prepared to help educate the entire nursing staff on basic bariatric patient safety and early postop diets.
Dr. Hargroder (one of the local surgeons for bariatrics in Baton Rouge) is the director of the burn unit here at BRG... but does his WLS at Vista not BRG go figure. I don't anticipate BRG trying to compete with Vista et al, but I wanted to make them know that through the ED they would get displaced WLS patients and so they needed a safety inservice... HAHAHAHA I think that little suggestion I gave just pushed me a bit forward in their goals for my position HAHAHHAHAHA
WOW!
