Having a good day today... finally!

Good Day indeed!! I woke up this morning to a blissful dream.... My surgeon was telling me that my surgery was covered and I was set to begin the following week... I was sitting in a nurse's station that is NOT the one I work at now... maybe superstitious but this to me confirms that it's time for me to move ONWARD!! With my career. I put in a job application yesterday (took me 3 attempts and 6 hours because I kept messing up one particular line and didn't realize it till the very end)... but I got it done... the application was for a job as a CASE MANAGER... which means I get to get OFF the floor and stop playing waitress to the remaining crazies in New Orleans. I'll be working for the hospital to evaluate nursing and charting and the facilitate the quality of patient care. I am going back to the hospital I first started at when I graduated nursing school. I'm quite excited about that since they offer multiple classes and opportunities for professional growth unlike any other hospital I've worked for. So I put in the application yesterday, finished it about 2 pm... and got a call from them by 5 pm for an interview on Thursday!!!! ONWARD!!

Hi Kat, I posted to you on the main board but will do it here too....I am so glad you have a job interview. I sure hope this is everything and more for you. At least with case management, you won't have to deal with the patients and maybe it will be easier than floor nursing. I sure hope everything works out. Will be thinking of you on Thursday, keep us updated. JC

I started out at Baton Rouge General, when I was a new grad... and now hope to go back there as a case manager.

hay Kat, I graduated from the general also.. I graduated 2000, hope you get the job, which one, bluebonnett, or florida blvd? i work at the lake, I wouldn't make that drive either, to crazy down there in N.O. and you have young children... rhonda

Oh, I graduated from LSUMC in New Orleans... but took my first job at BRGMC I'll be at the Mid City location (Florida) if I get the job. Kat
