Katrina support on this board???

HI KELLI HUN, I APOLOGIZE THAT I HAVEN'T FOUND THE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT OR SORROW FOR THE VICTIMS OF KATRINA. I GUESS I JUST THOUGHT THAT IF I COULDN'T FIND THE APPROPRIATE WORDS TO SAY, THEN IT MAY BE BEST NOT TO SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. SO I KEPT QUIET. I CANNOT IN MY WILDEST DREAMS IMAGINE THE DEVASTATION THAT YOU AND OTHER VICTIMS OF KATRINA HAVE GONE THROUGH. I PRAY THAT THE LORD WATCH OVER THE SURVIVORS, AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES, GOD SPEED TO THEIR HEALING OF THEIR LOSS, AS WELL AS THE SURVIVORS. I PRAY FURTHERMORE THAT YOU GET THE HELP THAT YOU NEED TO GET THE THINGS THAT YOU NEED TO LIVE DAILY. AND PLEASE ALWAYS KNOW THAT IF YOU EVER NEED ANYONE TO TALK TO, EVEN IF IT IS TO VENT ABOUT SOMETHING THAT SOMEONE SAID OR DID, NO MATTER HOW BAD IT IS, PLEASE KNOW I AM HERE TO LISTEN, AND LEND YOU A SHOULDER WHEN YOU NEED IT. Well Lori I would say that was very well said and heartfelt. Thank you. I wasn't angry at anyone at all, I just wanted to make sure that we had a forum to talk about this stuff. So far God has provided for us. I have run into some stumbling blocks, but we'll make it thru. I think for the immediate future, people are much better than they were, but long term, most of us don't have a clue what is going to happen next. Thanks again.

Hi Kelli, I posted this a couple of days ago: Looking for "normal" post LaKarita! I've been affected by both storms because Rita hit by hometown and all my family had to leave and we were nine in the house until yesterday. No body responded, but there was a lot of activity on the board and support from OH when specific needs were identified. I think it this has been a slow week or two and Rita just kinda knocked the sails out of people from the west who were supportive to people from the east. BTW, I have your Arkansas address and now that you are back in the state could you please send me an address so I can ship you a protein care package. I'm sorry I didn't email you for it earlier when you first got back, but caring for my displaced elderly parents kinda took me for a loop. We are still here and we still care. Thanks Frances. I did send you and email, and have noticed you have been very supportive even though you are going thru so much already. I just wanted to make sure that those who needed could speak on here.

Kelli, I had watched the new orleans ordeal on Tv and wondered how so many survived and nashed teeth about the poorly handled relief process. Then Rita came along and chased us out of our nest. We were away for about three weeks. Not able to respond on the computer. So much to do upon return. Just now getting back to the boards. I'm sure that is true of a lot of us out here. Thelma, I hope all is okay with you. That was awful that Rita came on land as well and so many more were affected. I continuously pray for those affected by the storms. Thanks for the support and we are here for you as well. kelli

Kelli, I am sorry to hear about your problems. The government red tape is so bad right now. I heard that Target is paying $12.50 per hour. A lot of places are hiring. I have pretty much roof damage, but FEMA put a blue tarp on it until we can get a roofer. We also have a big hole in one of the gables. It is not completely covered, so I worry that some critters are going to get in my attic. My husband and I were very lucky that we only missed one week of work. I have been very depressed because everything has changed. New Orleans will never be the same. We might move out of state in about 3 years. We are going to stay for the rebuilding because my husband's job is related to that. But I am so tired of evacuating every year. I don't want to go through this again. I am going to see Chris tomorrow for my one year check up. I am anxious to see the lab work results. I hope they are good. Take care, Lynn J., lap RNY 9/29/04 -150 lbs.

Lynn, I'm sorry we're all struggling like this. *sigh* Good luck tomorrow! If you think of it or feel like it, you can tell Chris "Vanessa from grammar school said Hi!" and tell her I'm moving to Houston - she'll I ordered my lab orders from Dr. Lavin. I had them fax them over so I could go have my labs drawn. Have I done it? NOPE. Can I find the orders now? NOPE! *sigh* I will have to call tomorrow and try to go before I leave so they can at least look at them before I have to find a new doctor. I'm going to miss Chris and Dr. Lavin.
