life as we know it
Unfortunately I have not had time to keep up with anyone... this is just a short list of what I've been doing lately....
organizing the packages that are still arriving for donations (THANK YOU!!)
working (about 60 hrs/wk)
dad got sick (GI virus, transplant patient)
then dad fell (3 days ago)
sis in law feel 1 week ago (sprained ankle)
hubby had surgery (1 week ago)
organizing Dr's appointments and medical care for Dad, hubby, kids, myself
trying hard to deny the severe sciatic pain in my back
moving what salvageable things I can from my destroyed home
organizing those things into an RV
So I haven't really had time to do much else... heck I barely have time to sleep... I don't see my children, or my husband, since I'm either working or moving things and still in New Orleans. I'm taking meds and struggling to keep from this horrendous depression. But I too would like to know how people are doing now.

Kat,
Thanks for that post, it makes me realize I really don't have anything to complain about. I was just telling my kids all I do is run with you guys, guess it could be a lot worse. Your post makes me stop and be grateful for what I have.
Please in all you are doing try to take care of yourself too.

Kat, Im sorry you have been so busy, I wasn' t expecting for you to keep up with gemma, I was searching for anyone that might have heard from her, I knew you would not be on this site for a while , due to your computer was out, Hope things get better, we all know as nurses, we tend to take care of others before ourselves. So, take a deep breath, and take care of yourself.... Seems strange how family always appoint the Nurses of the family, to be the care takers!!! Take care!!!!
Kat, hay I would like to know how everyone else is doing to. I know everyone has been so busy with hurricane business. It is like a nightmare, and I pray everyday for everyone that had to go thru it, I didn't lose anything, I live on the outskirts of denham springs la, but i had 8 people, 3 extra dogs in my house, which i didn't mind at all. I can't even image coming from new orleans area, Its very sad that many people lost homes, and dislocated family, or dealing with deaths. Hope you have a great week!!!!!!!
Hey Rhonda sorry it took so long for me to post, I was really wiped out yesterday and today. I got home about three yesterday and went in search of a recliner today with no luck. If you don't have one it is a good idea for after surgery. Hopefully I can find one tomorrow when more stores are open. It's hard to get out of bed or even off the couch. But other than that I'm doing fine much better than expected. I will update my profile on the whole experience probably tomorrow. Take care.
