Update on Me

I just wanted to give a quick update. My internet access is limited as I am still in North Arkansas. I was a Hurricane Rita evacuee. I do know that our house has minimal damage. However, my job will not be functioning for 6 month's to a year. I worked for Harrah's Casino in the business office. I am saddened by the love and the friendships there that will be lost however, I must move on. My employer is paying us our salary and our insurance premiums for up to 90 days. So, that says alot about Harrah's and their concern for their employees. At this point and time I don't know where I will relocate too. I am considering Houston (I lived there before or Alabama near Dixie Chick). Dixie has been my rock through this all and I thank her from the bottom of my heart. Please continue to hold me in your prayer's as I try to sort out my life and get myself re-established. Gina PS-I am 45lbs away from goal. YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!

Hi Gina, I'm sorry Ive been out of communication for a few days. I went to Dallas to check on my sister's family and bring them their car. My parents went to Lake Charles today with my brother and sister-in-law. Sounds like it's much worse in person that the stories and pictures can do justice. My nephew told us the house had little damage, but the water damage showed more from the inside. Sounds like the roof gave way at some point. As soon as I came back from Texas, my brother told me about the Harrah's plan to close for at least 6 months. I was so saddened to hear that because I was so reassuming to you that it wouldn't take that long. My brother is in the same situation as you are and I'm suggesting that he tried to get employment in the casino/hotel locations not affected by the hurricanes. There's a good bit of openings at the two boats in Baton Rouge. I hope he can get a job there and transfer back to Harrah's as soon as they are up. He really liked the idea of working for Harrah's also. If you are interesting in trying out some positions down here, please let me know. We have a Lake Charles delegation here in Baton Rouge and we will be close to home to help our parents and elderly family members get re-established in Lake Charles.
