Evacuation Update
I just wanted to let everyone know my family and I have evacuated to North Arkansas. We are ok. Just scared and worried about our homes and my step father's business. I know that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle and we will get through this.
All of my family is accounted for except my Grandmother's husband. The fire department is going to his house to see if he is ok. Please keep us and all of the Katrina and now Rita evacuee's in your prayer's.
I no longer have a job. I work at Harrah's casino and it is under water. My heart is sad and heavy with grief right now. I know my employer will take care of us for 90 days and then I will go from there. I just don't know where to turn. I love my OH family and I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for all evacuee's.
Special thanks to Dixie Chick and Cajun.

Gina,
I am glad you are ok. My prayers are with you and your family for the safe finding of your grandmother's husband.
I am sorry about your job. Harrahs wa**** hard...didn't they get it in New Orleans also? I hope they can reopen.
My heart goes out to all in South Louisiana. I find myself finding people in Walmart that have been displaced and I just talk and talk with them. Seems like they just like to share or maybe even vent a little. And then this week there were so many from Texas also. Makes me so grateful for what I have.
Take care.

Hello Gina,
I don't know if you knew before, but I'm from Lake Charles and now live in Baton Rouge. My brother and his daughter work at Harrah's. We downloaded a lot of pictures and I think the boats can be pushed back into position pretty soon. The lower level of the hotel has lots of water. I don't know how bad the restaurants are.
There's a Harrah's office set up in Baton Rouge offering information and aid to their employees. I don't think it's going to take 90 days for Harrah's be be back and running and they will take good care of you guys in the meantime.
Email me for my phone number and I can go down to the office in Baton Rouge for you. My brother is a manager at the restaurant. His name is Rodney Johnson. He's here with me.
Let me know how we can help. We are hoping to get back to Lake Charles within the week...but that's completely up in the air.
All my best,
Frances
