RE: Donated Clothing for Katrina!

I want to personally thank everyone who has SOOOO *generously* donated clothing and personal effects to the victims of Katrina! The response has been amazing and we have met the needs of many victims of this horrendous catastrophe. To those who had planned to send donation packages to me, please note that only two remaining shelters are accepting clothing now, and those two have plans on discontinuing clothing retreival soon... so I am asking that no one else send clothing in their packages please. Personal items such as toothbrushes, baby items, feminine products, and hygiene items are still being accepted. There is still a definite need for bariatric items. Protein supplements of all types, vitamins (multi, calcium & b-12), and even gift cards (Wal-Mart or Winn Dixie) for the patients to buy nutritious foods are still VERY much needed. For those bariatric patients in or near the Baton Rouge, LA area that still need supplies or contacts to physicians, please contact me or our lovely Frances Spencer and we can get some information out to you. Again I want to all of you for your generous response. I have never been so proud to be a member of this site, as I was this past couple weeks!
