UHC has my letter of appeal
Well, yesterday was no fun calling the insurance company. I started calling at 8:45 and was transfered numerous times and then when I did talk with someone she was extremely rude. They had not rec'd my appeal. I tried double checking the address and was told just send it to the address on your card. NO!!! there are two address listed on my letter of denial which is the best one? They had plenty of time to rec'v the letter of appeal as I had received a copy of the letter last week from the doctors office. The customer service rep said I should not mail it to either it needed to go to the address on the back of my card. I got tired of her and asked to speak with her supervisor and click. She hung up on me!!! Next call was no better, she said they had no supervisor to talk with. Yea right! Called back again got someone helpful and she transfered me somewhere else. They gave me the direct number to the appeals department. Called that number and lo and behold I got through. I didn't spend twenty minutes going through the automated system. I actually got a live person. They had not rec'd my appeal but she gave me the fax number and said fax it. Called the surgeons office and it was faxed. I called this morning and 31 pages were rec'd yesterday. I should know something by the 30th of this month. Now I am only hoping and praying for the word APPROVED!!!
I too experienced this problem when calling UHC for information when I was waiting for approval. I know it is very frustrating; I wanted to jump through the phone and smack some of them in the head. They try to make it hard for us but continue to be strong and do not give up. My prayers are with you.
