Hello.. My name is Jennifer and I live in Baltimore,Maryland. I was absolutely devastated to hear about the hurricane and right away wanted to help. I gathered 2 friends and knew they would be as passionate about this as myself and right away we began brainstorming. We decided to load our stuff up in a uhaul and drive out to Houston or/and Louisiana possibly stopping at Mississippi along the way. We have a great deal of things we have accumulated our on own and still waiting for more things from our friends and family. The only problem we have will be where to take the things? I don't know how to find out who needs the supplies the most. If anyone reading this can be of any help at all please contact me A.S.A.P. I want to be sure our items go where they are needed the most because I have read and seen on TV that many people are still going without basic necessities. That to me is unexceptable. May God bless each and everyone affected by this and give them the strength to go on!! We our coming to help anyway we can! Jennifer

FYI, Louisiana is between Houston and Mississippi along the I-10 You could do Houston, Louisiana, then Mississippi... or the reverse... for the convenience of your travelling anyway.

Of course, alot of areas of Mississippi have claimed that they have been ignored because of the big focus on New Orleans. It is a poor state, and many Louisiana people leaving New Orleans ended up in that direction, so they may well be swamped, and need the help more. They would probably easier for you to reach than farther west. The people in the astrodome were given debit type cards whereas others in other areas we issued checks etc............ so they probably are more able to get things for themselves than the people in Mississippi would be. The ones in Houston have are in an area not touched by the storm, and Mississippi has had their flow of good interrupted so Mississippi probably needs things more.
