Thursday: Support, supplies for all survivors!
Victim is a four-letter word and refugees can't be found in their own country. Strong survivors? Now, there's a word for the ages.
All strong survivors who are displaced from Southeastern Louisiana or who had surgery in one of the New Orleans or Covington are invited to join the members of NooMee! for a special support and informational meeting.
A relief effort has been started by ObesityHelp and surgeons and vendors across the nation are stepping in to lend a hand. If you are displaced or unable to reach your bariatric doctor, please contact me for ways you can receive medical attention, nutritional supplements and bariatric supplies.
I have names and numbers for doctors in Baton Rouge, Houston, and Shreveport who are ready and willing to help with follow-up and aftercare. Don't take chances with your health.
ANY bariatric patient or someone wanting more information about bariatric surgery is asked to attend the following meeting:
*Thursday at 6 p.m. (Seminar) 6:30 p.m. (Support Group)
Place: Oak Lodge in Baton Rouge (Near Sherwood/Interstate 12)
Map: http://members.cox.net/franspencer/press_map.pdf
Contact: Genie at Minimally Invasive Surgery Institute (225.769-5656)
Or email me here!
If you know of anyone close by who had surgery in New Orleans or Covington, please let them know about this meeting. We plan to identify needs and get people whatever they need to get back on their feet.
Folks wanting to donate clothes: We will be able to give you addresses to send your clothes to after this meeting.
Vendors are shipping protein sources and supplies to three locations and we can ship to individuals out of state. So if you know someone who left the state, please email me and we will get them what they need.
This isn't a new way to make money. People need help and there are folks ready and willing to lend aid and support.
Thanks for being a wonderful family and community.
Onward!
Frances
God Bless you Frances,
I will try to make that meeting tomorrow evening. Most of all just to meet you, will you be there? In case you missed my post from yesterday, I have an appointment scheduled for Tues. 9/13 with your Dr. LeBlanc (what's your name for him Supa Doc?) His staff was very nice to me on the phone and they will be doing my fill that was originally scheduled for this week in NO. I have passed this on to several people, There is one girl that I met on this OH board who had Lap Band surgery the same day as I did, her name is Cole L. from Covington, LA. I have emailed her but I have not heard from her yet, I'm a little concerned.
You are an angel to arrange this service for all involved. Please know that if there is anything that I can ever do for you, please call on me...
GOD BLESS US ALL..
Dee
