I'm safe and blessed.

Hi All!!! I am still in Forrest City AR living in a church home w/ another family. We were blessed that they took us in. I have applied for food stamps, unemployment, welfare and enrolled the kids in school. My home has minor damage, but I have no job to go back to, and there is still no electricity. I am not sure what we will do. I have a lot of major decisions to make. The girls want to stay here in AR but this city has no jobs. Possibly I will look in the Memphis area. Thank you all for you love and concern, and I pray all of you are okay.

Thank you, you are too sweet. The main thing I need is protein, as they don't have a shop here. I usually do the whey protein, low sugar , carbs and calories. I just got some vanilla, so maybe some chocolate or something else. The girls have plenty of clothes now. They could use some socks or a surprise my brighten their day. Thanks a lot. Kelli, Hey girl it is nice to see you back on the board. We had 2-3 feet of water in the house, a bunch of trees down in the yard, my car had water in it too. Brian and my dad went to the house and took up the carpet. I think we are all going back Friday to clean up and cut the sheet rock. I am at the point where I can have mashed potatoes, and cheese I had some cheese today and it was sooooo good and I had no problems with it. So it felt good. But I am still stuck. Hi Crissy, I am in Morgan City. I'm guessing about 2 hours from Slidell. It takes me an hour and twenty minutes to get to the Airport. How did You do with the hurricane? Hope all is well !!! Dee

Kelli, I am so glad you are all right. We have several holes in our roof that are not completely covered. We are going to sign up for a program where the Corps of Engineers will come out and put up blue tarps to cover the holes. Lynn J., lap RNY 9/24/04 -148 lbs
